Queen Elizabeth Silver Jubilee Endowment Fund for Study in a Second Official Language Award

Award: $7,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident enrolled in the second or third year of his or her first undergraduate university program at an AUCC-member or AUCC-affiliated university that offers instruction in his or her official second language. Applicant attending a Quebec institution may be in his or her first year of a first undergraduate program. Preference given to applicant who wishes to study at another educational institution where his or her second official language is predominant. Applicant must be nominated by university (maximum of one nomination per university).

 

Phi Kappa Theta Scholarship

Applicant must be a member of Phi Kappa Theta National Fraternity.

 

Summerfield G. Roberts Award

Award: $2,500, Deadline: January 15

Award is to encourage literary effort and research about historical events and personalities during the days of the Republic of Texas, 1836-1846, and to stimulate interest in this period. Manuscript must be written or published during the calendar year for which the award is given and it may be either fiction or nonfiction, poetry, essay, play, short story, novel, or biography. Competition is open to all writers everywhere.

 

ACJA/LAE National Scholarship

Applicant must be a ACJA/LAE member in good standing who is currently enrolled in a recognized course of study directly (or indirectly) associated with the criminal justice field.

 

Walter International Student Scholarship

Applicant must be a non-U.S. resident, meet all INS requirements for attending college in U.S., and prove financial support for need not covered by award.

 

David Birenbaum Scholarship

San Joaquin Valley Section Scholarship

Applicant must be pursuing a degree in a petroleum-related field and be a resident of California or have petroleum-related work experience in the San Joaquin Valley area. Transcripts, teacher recommendation, and two essays required.

 

Gary W. Chism Memorial Award

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and major in medical research or business. Applicant must be a student in Ventura County intending to attend an accredited college or university.

 

United Methodist Scholarship

Applicant must have been an active member of the United Methodist Church for at least one year.

 

AIA New Jersey Scholarship

Applicant must be a resident of New Jersey who is enrolled in an accredited architecture school.

 

Sikh Education Aid Fund

Study Abroad Scholarship

Selection is based upon academic merit and essay.

 

SAME Engineer/Architect Scholarship

Applicant must be a Ventura County resident who is either a high school senior or college freshman, sophomore, or junior with a minimum 3.0 GPA and majoring in engineering or architecture. Two letters of recommendation attesting to scientific capabilities are required to be submitted.

 

COARE Internship

Applicant must be an undergraduate or graduate student. The successful intern will participate in a variety of projects, and will have the opportunity to be engaged at all levels of COARE's campaigns. The position is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, and is designed to provide a wide range of practical, programmatic, and administrative experience relating to environmental and conservation issues of local, regional, national, and global significance. Interested and enthusiastic candidates may also be involved in research and legislation at the forefront of ocean-related policy and governance.

 

Bernice Murray Scholarship

Applicant must be a resident of Vermont who is a single parent with primary custody of at least one child 12 years of age or younger, and will attend an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Dwight D. Gardner Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: November 15

Applicant must be an active IIE member, be enrolled full time, and have a minimum 3.4 GPA. Selection is based upon scholastic ability, character, leadership, potential service to the profession, and financial need.

 

Public Safety Officers Survivor Grant

Award: $10,488, Deadline: Varies

Applicant must be the dependent child under age 23 (or under age 30 for those honorably discharged from active duty or released to a reserve or National Guard unit) or the surviving spouse of a public safety officer who was killed in the line of duty on or after January 1, 1973. Applicant must also be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, meet state residency requirements, be enrolled at least half time, be in the first five years of a post-secondary education, and must not be in default on a student loan.

 

Sau-Wing Lam Music Scholarship

Applicant must demonstrate talent with bowed string instruments. Selection is based upon recorded audition and recommendations by music instructors. Recipient agrees to participate in at least one performing ensemble during the year.

Applicant must be a United States or Canadian citizen who is at least 18 years old and enrolled as a full-time student in the United States or Canada. Applicant must be majoring in a field of welding engineering and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Selection based upon leadership abilities.

 

ENA Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: April 28

Applicant must be a RN, LPN, or LVN pursuing a bachelor's degree, must be an ENA member, and must submit typewritten application form, biographical sketch, personal statement, transcripts, and at least two references. Selection is based upon applicant's statement of goals, professional involvement or ENA membership, and GPA.

 

Art Special Skills Scholarship

Applicant must have a minimum grade average of "B" in art courses. Selection is based upon portfolio.

 

Assistance League of Long Beach

Sophia Kampher Scholarship

Applicant must be a female graduate of a Montana high school. Preference is given to liberal arts majors.

 

William B. Howell Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be a full-time student who is majoring in welding. A minimum 2.5 GPA and financial need are required. Preference is given to applicants from Florida, Michigan, and Ohio.

Applicant must be majoring in welding engineering and have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

 

Don and Peg Arnold Scholarship

Applicant must be a resident of one of the following towns in Vermont: Benson, Castleton, Cornwall, Hubbardton, Orwell, Shoreham, Sudbury, or Whiting. Applicant must attend an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding. Academic achievement, financial need and community involvement must be demonstrated.
