National Scholars Program

Award: $13,900, Deadline: June 1

Applicant must not be a resident of Michigan or Ohio.

 

Mark Twain Nonresident Scholarship

Award: $5,500, Deadline: August 15

Applicant must rank in top 50% of graduating high school class, have a minimum composite ACT score of 27 (combined SAT I score of 1210), and be a resident of any state except Missouri.

 

Out-of-State Collegiate Scholar

Award: $3,500, Deadline: December 1

Applicant must be an out-of-state first-time freshman student with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA and a minimum composite ACT score between 28 and 29 (combined SAT Reasoning score between 1250-1320).

 

Out-of-State Presidential Scholar

Applicant must be an out-of-state first-time freshman student with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA and minimum composite ACT score between 32 and 36 (combined SAT Reasoning score between 1400 and 1600).

 

Out-of-State Capstone Scholar

Applicant must be an out-of-state first-time freshman student with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA and a minimum composite ACT score of 27 (combined SAT Reasoning score between 1210 and 1240).

 

Lettie Pate Whitehead Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a Christian woman who is a resident of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, or Virginia. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, be enrolled full time, and be able to demonstrate financial need. Contact the financial aid office for more information regarding applications.

 

Out-of-State Grant

Award: $3,000, Deadline: None

Applicant must have a minimum 2.0 GPA and be a resident of any state except Kansas. FAFSA is required.

 

Out-of-State Tuition Assistance Scholarship

Award: $6,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must show academic ability and not be a resident of Idaho.

 

Max and Emmy Dreyfuss Jewish Undergraduate Scholarship

Award: $3,500, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a Jewish resident of the Washington, DC metropolitan area, who has been accepted into an accredited four-year undergraduate program on a full-time basis. Selection is based primarily on financial need. Awards may not be used for community college or study abroad programs (including Israel).

 

Morton A. Gibson Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a high school senior, who is a Jewish resident of the Washington, DC metropolitan area, and has been accepted into an accredited four-year undergraduate program on a full-time basis. Significant volunteer services within the local Jewish community are required to be completed.

 

Helen James Brewer Scholarship

Award: -, Deadline: June 15

Applicant must be a lineal descendant of worthy Confederates or collateral descendant who is a member of the Children of the Confederacy or the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Applicant must be a member or former member of the Children of the Confederacy or the United Daughters of the Confederacy and reside in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, or Virginia. Applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA, be enrolled in an accredited college or university, and carry a minimum of 12 hours each semester. Applicant must be prepared to pass entrance examination of prospective college or university. Applicant must submit proof of Confederate Military Record, line of descent from Confederate ancestor, a letter of endorsement from sponsoring Chapter, a letter of recommendation, complete financial report, official transcripts, an essay on the significance of a southern heritage, and a wallet-size photo. Original and four copies of the application forms and five copies of all documents, certificates, and letters must be submitted to the Division Director of Education. All inquiries must include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.

 

McNair Scholars Award

Award: $12,000, Deadline: December 1

Applicant must be from outside South Carolina. Selection is based upon academic achievement, leadership, and character.

 

Mt. Garfield Non-Resident Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and a resident of any state other than Colorado, and have a minimum 3.2 GPA.

 

Out-of-State Fee Stipend

Award: $2,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must have a minimum 3.5 GPA or rank in the top quarter of class, have a minimum composite ACT score of 24, and may not be a resident of Missouri.

 

Continue the Tradition

Applicant must be the child or grandchild of an alumni and may not be a resident of Missouri. Entering freshman applicants must have a minimum 3.5 GPA or rank in the top quarter of class and have a minimum composite ACT score of 24. Transfer applicants must have completed at least 24 credit hours and have a minimum 3.25 GPA.

 

Out-of-State Fee Waiver for the Performing Arts

Lighthouse International's Scholarship and Career Awards

Floyd-Francis Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen, be a Virginia resident, be enrolled full time (at least 12 credit hours per semester), and demonstrate financial difficulty and academic achievement. Entering freshman and transfer applicants should have a minimum combined SAT I score of 1100. Returning student applicant should have a minimum 3.0 Quality Credit Average (QCA). William Newbille Saunders Scholarship

Senator Harry F. Byrd Scholarship

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen, be a Virginia resident, be enrolled full time (at least 12 credit hours per semester), and have a minimum SAT I score of 1100. Applicant must submit FAFSA. Award is for four years.

 

W.H. Wheeler Scholarship
