Applicants must be full-time undergraduate or graduate music students who are Virginia, Maryland or Washington, DC residents or students at colleges, universities or conservatories in Virginia, Maryland or Washington, DC. Students must be 25 years of age or younger. Prior first place winners may not reenter.

 

John R. Lillard VAOC Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 10

Applicants must be Virginia high school seniors who have an unweighted GPA of 3.50 or higher. They must be accepted into or enrolled in an aviation-related program at an accredited postsecondary institution and must have plans to pursue a career in aviation. Selection is based on academic merit, personal essay, leadership skills and financial need.

Applicants may be from Iowa or Texas and working toward two-year degrees in agricultural business management, farm and ranch management, livestock management or agricultural sales and marketing. Applicants may also be from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Wisconsin, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, New York, North Dakota, South Dakota, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina or South Carolina and working toward four-year degrees in agricultural business management, farm and ranch management, livestock management or agricultural sales and marketing. Kent Nutrition Group Inc. FFA Scholarship

Applicants must be working toward a degree in one of the following fields: animal science, animal nutrition, dairy science, poultry science, equine/equestrian science, agriculture, agricultural science, agricultural business management, economics, finance or marketing and sales. Applicants must attend college in and be residents of one of the following states: Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia or West Virginia. Applicants must be pursuing a degree in the field of agriculture and reside in one of the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, New York, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia or West Virginia. Leo Bourassa Scholarship

Applicants must be Virginia residents and students in good standing at an accredited college or university in the state. They must complete at least two semesters of undergraduate study by the award date. They must also be full-time undergraduate or full- or part-time graduate students enrolled in curriculum related to water resources.

 

Mary Anne Williams Scholarship

Applicants must be Virginia residents who are lineal descendants of a worthy Confederate veteran. They must be undergraduate or graduate students who are majoring in pre-medicine or engineering at a Virginia postsecondary institution. They must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a four-point scale. Applicants must demonstrate financial need. Selection is based on academic achievement and financial need.

 

Virginia Sheriffs' Institute Scholarship

Applicants must be residents of an eligible Virginia locality. They must be accepted or enrolled at a Virginia college or university and must be majoring in or planning to major in criminal justice. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

NACE Eastern Area Scholarship

Applicants must be a permanent resident of the United States and be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate in an accredited engineering or physical science degree program at a two or four-year college or university. Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and have a permanent address within the NACE Eastern Area which includes the following states and/or U.S. Territories: Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Indiana (excluding Lake, Porter La Porte, Newton and Jasper counties), Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia and West Virginia.

 

Collegiate Shooting Scholarship Program

Applicants must live in Pennsylvania or Virginia, be a high school senior, have at least a 3.0 GPA and have a strong interest in shooting sports and the Second Amendment. Selection is based on the application, essay and letter of reference.

 

NACA South Student Leadership Scholarships

Students must hold a significant campus leadership position, demonstrate significant leadership skills and abilities and make significant contributions through on- or off-campus volunteering. Students must attend school in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia or Puerto Rico.

 

Virginia PTA Annual Citizenship Essay Project

Applicants must be Virginia students in kindergarten through 12th grade who are attending a school that has a PTA or PTSA chapter in good standing. They must submit an essay on a sponsor-determined topic relating to citizenship. Selection is based on essay originality, clarity and grammar.

 

Alice Mahone Business and Professional Women's Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: April 7

Applicants must be graduating high school seniors at a school located in Bedford County, Virginia. They must demonstrate academic achievement and must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. They must be accepted at a post-secondary institution that is not a community college. Children of Bedford Professional Women (BPW) members are ineligible. Selection is based on class rank, financial need and extracurricular activities.

 

Virginia Ruff Scholarship for Continuing Education

Award: $1,000, Deadline: June 30

Applicants must be U.S. citizens who have been residents of Bedford County, Virginia for at least the past two years. They must be pursuing higher education in order to re-enter the job market, to become economically self-sufficient or to advance their current careers. They must be accepted into an accredited degree program and demonstrate financial need. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

Virginia Police Chiefs Foundation College Scholarship Program

Applicants must be the dependent children of active police officers on duty in the Commonwealth of Virginia, excluding children of sheriff's deputies and federal officers. They must be working towards their first undergraduate degree and be currently accepted or enrolled as a full-time student at a college or university. Selection is based upon financial need, academic success, 500-word essay and achievements in the community.

 

Washington DC Metro Alumni Scholarship

Applicants must be from Maryland, Virginia, District of Columbia or Delaware. Students must be current high school graduates accepted to AAMU or students currently attending AAMU and pursuing a degree.
