Applicant must be a full-time student with a minimum 2.5 GPA who is a resident of Colorado. Awarded to athletes enrolled in the School of Business (baseball, basketball), two awards to football players, one to a minority student, and one for business, music, and vocational majors. Applicant must be enrolled full time and demonstrate financial need, academic performance, and potential to contribute to chosen profession. Award provides a work/training experience between the recipient and his or her faculty mentor.

Applicant must be a full-time student with a minimum 2.5 GPA, demonstrate financial need, and have previously participated in intercollegiate athletics. Applicant must no longer be eligible for intercollegiate sports but desire to return to school and/or complete studies.

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, be a full-time student, and be a resident of Mesa County, Colo.. Recipient must attend a Redlands Lions Club meeting in the academic year they receive the scholarship.

Applicant must be enrolled full time, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, be degree-seeking, be age 25 or over, have been a Mesa County, Colo., resident for at least five years, and demonstrate financial need.

 

Ferdinand Torres Scholarship

Applicant must be legally blind, be enrolled full time, and demonstrate financial need. Selection is based upon transcripts, recommendation, and personal statement. Preference is given to residents of the New York City metropolitan area and new immigrants.

 

Xerox Technical Minority Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: September 30

Applicant must be a minority student enrolled in a technical degree program and have a minimum grade average of "B". Financial need is required. Award amount is dependent upon tuition balance, academic excellence and classification. The program is not open to Xerox Corporation employees, or their spouses and children.

 

Astrid G. Cates and Myrtle Beinhauer Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a current Sons of Norway member or child of a current Sons of Noway member, who is now enrolling in post-secondary training or education including trade school, vocational school, or college. Selection is based upon financial need, statement of education and career goals, GPA, letters of recommendation, and extracurricular involvements.

 

Kyutaro & Yasuo Abiko Memorial Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a member of JACL. Selection is based upon personal statement, letters of recommendation, transcripts, work experience, and community involvement. Preference is given to applicants interested in journalism or agriculture.

 

Henry & Chiyo Kuwahara Creative Arts Award

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 1

Award is to encourage creative projects reflecting the Japanese-American experience and providing cultural representation. Applicant must be a member of JACL. Selection is based upon personal statement, letters of recommendation, transcripts, work experience, and community involvement. Professional artists are not eligible.

 

Mary Lou Brown Scholarship

Applicant must have at least a general class radio license and demonstrate interest in promoting the Amateur Radio Service. Preference is given to residents of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, or Washington who have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Applicant must have an amateur radio license. Preference is given to Kansas residents.

 

PHD ARA Scholarship

Applicant must have an amateur radio license. Preference is given to residents of ARRL Midwest Division (Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska) and to children of deceased radio amateurs.

 

Charles Clark Cordle Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must have an amateur radio license and be attending school in Alabama or Georgia. Preference is given to residents of Georgia or Alabama with a minimum 2.5 GPA.

 

New England FEMARA Scholarship

Award: $600, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must have at least a technician class amateur radio license. Preference is given to residents of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

 

Edmond A. Metzger Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must have at least a novice class amateur radio license, be a member of ARRL, and be attending school in the ARRL Central Division (Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin). Preference is given to residents of Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin who are majoring in electrical engineering.
