Communication Disorder/Speech Therapy Scholarship

Award: $800, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a legal resident of Massachusetts and submit a letter of endorsement from the president of the sponsoring GFWC of MA club in the community of legal residence, a recommendation from department head of major, a letter stating reason for financial assistance, and college transcript. Interview and SASE required.

 

Reid-Baskin Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a resident of Newberry or York counties, S.C. and have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA.

 

Performance Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: April 1

Selection is based upon talent and potential in art, broadcasting, forensics, music, or theatre.

 

Marion Fletcher Scholarship

Award: -, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be enrolled full time and have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

 

Madge Huffer Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be enrolled full time, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, and participate in speech or theatre activities.

Gongoro Nakamura Memorial Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a member of JACL. Selection is based upon personal statement, letters of recommendation, transcripts, work experience, and community involvement. Preference is given to applicants with an interest in public speaking or debate.

 

Wilson A. and Stella Elizabeth Ray Memorial Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a West Virginia resident and a graduating senior from Chapmanville High School who plans to attend a college or university full time.

 

West Virginia Broadcasters Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be West Virginia resident and an employee or family member of an employee of a station that is a member of the West Virginia Broadcasters Association. First priority given to applicants in the broadcast field; second to applicants who demonstrate financial need. GPA and any unusual circumstances are also considered.

 

Forensics Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must plan to compete in intercollegiate speech and debate events.

 

Patricia Collins Amaral Memorial Fund

Award: $600, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a senior who has a minimum 3.0 GPA and who has demonstrated the finest qualities of leadership through participation in campus organizations and has rendered service of significant benefit to the campus community.

 

Alumni Association Scholarship

Award: -, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must demonstrate community leadership and have met the award criteria established by the Alumni Association's Scholarship Committee. Applicant must have completed 12 credits last semester and 24 credits at Bridgewater State College as of December 31. Applicants who have transferred from Massachusetts Community Colleges, Dean College, or Quincy College are eligible to apply.

 

Donald M. Brooks Memorial Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must have a minimum 2.5 GPA, gradate from a San Luis Valley high school, and submit an essay completing the statement "Why I feel I deserve this scholarship."

 

Jacob Javits Fellowship

Award: -, Deadline: August 31

Applicant must not have completed his or her first year of graduate school and the fifth year of a five-year baccalaureate/master's degree is applicable. Applicant must demonstrate financial need and submit a FAFSA application.
