Elizabeth Massey Award

Award: $2,000, Deadline: November 1

Applicant must be a woman who is a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant enrolled for post-graduate studies in music, painting, or sculpture in Canada or abroad.

 

Marjorie Martin Caylor Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: None

Audition is required. Selection is based upon merit and talent on keyboard.

 

National Young Artist's Competition in Organ Performance

Award: $2,000, Deadline: April 30

Applicant must be an organist between the ages of 22 and 32, a member of the American Guild of Organists, and seriously interested in pursuing a recital career. Selection is based upon a comprehensive application procedure and three rounds of playing competition.

 

Regional Competition for Young Organists

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 30

Applicant must be age 23 or under and may compete only in region of residence or school.

 

Nickels for Notes Scholarship

Award: $800, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must attend a Massachusetts high school and submit a letter of endorsement from the president of the sponsoring GFWC of Massachusetts club in the community of legal residence, recommendation from music teacher or high school principal, and high school transcript. Audition and SASE required.

 

Henry & Chiyo Kuwahara Creative Arts Award

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 1

Award is to encourage creative projects reflecting the Japanese-American experience and providing cultural representation. Applicant must be a member of JACL. Selection is based upon personal statement, letters of recommendation, transcripts, work experience, and community involvement. Professional artists are not eligible.

 

Piano Scholarship

Award: $200, Deadline: September 15

Eligibility depends on having fulfilled the following requirements: 1.) national winner for 10 years with grades totaling at least 140 more "C's" than "A's"; 2.) Paderewski Medal winner (application required); 3.) Guild High School Diploma recipient. Applicant must be a student continuing their piano study.

 

American Theatre Organ Society, Inc. Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 15

Applicant must be an organ student studying with professional theatre organ instructors or be a theatre organ student furthering their musical education by working toward a college organ performance degree.

 

Career Performance Grant

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a member of Sigma Alpha Iota.

 

Maria Content Wise Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,550, Deadline: January 15

Preference given to a freshman who is not majoring in music and can demonstrate piano skills.

Applicant must be a senior who has a minimum 3.0 GPA and who has demonstrated the finest qualities of leadership through participation in campus organizations and has rendered service of significant benefit to the campus community.

 

Alumni Association Scholarship

Applicant must demonstrate community leadership and have met the award criteria established by the Alumni Association's Scholarship Committee. Applicant must have completed 12 credits last semester and 24 credits at Bridgewater State College as of December 31. Applicants who have transferred from Massachusetts Community Colleges, Dean College, or Quincy College are eligible to apply.

 

Bernice Barnard Music Education Scholarship

Applicant must be from the city of San Buenaventura or Ojai and have attended a Ventura or Ojai area high school or college. Interest and involvement in music in recommendation letters and essay must be shown.
