Virginia's Nurse Practitioner/Nurse Midwife Program

Award: $5,000, Deadline: June 30

Applicant must be a Virginia resident at least one year prior to application, be accepted or enrolled as a full-time student, and have a minimum 3.0 GPA in required courses. Financial need must be demonstrated. Application and official transcripts are required to be submitted.

 

Upward Bound Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a R.N., L.P.N., or C.N.A., be a member of or be sponsored by a member of NADONA/LTC, and be employed in Long Term Care with plans to remain employed in Long Term Care for at least years after graduation. Applicant must submit an essay of at least 100 words describing why they are seeking the degree.

 

Mern Shafman Memorial Nursing Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a junior in good academic standing who demonstrates a financial need.

 

Back to School Nursing Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: January 31; April 30; July 31; October 31

Applicant must be a legal resident of the United States who is at least 18 years of age or older at the time of registration and who plans to enroll in a previously unattended institution in the United States (award not open to residents in Florida, New York, Rhode Island or other states/territories). Applicant must be a nursing student. Response to why the applicant decided to pursue a nursing career is required.

 

Estelle Massey Osborne Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant should be a black registered nurse who is a member of a professional nursing association and enrolled in or applying to a full-time master's degree program in nursing approved by the National League for Nursing and CCNE. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or have declared official intention of becoming one. Applicant must submit GRE or MAT scores. Selection is based upon academic achievement and evidence of service to the profession. Send $20 check to cover postage and handling when requesting application.

 

M. Elizabeth Carnegie Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a black registered nurse and member of a professional nursing organization, be enrolled in a doctoral program in nursing or a nursing-related field, and be a U.S. citizen or have officially declared desire to become one. Selection is based upon academic achievement and evidence of service to the profession. Applicant must submit GRE or MAT scores. Send $20 check by February 1 to cover postage and handling when requesting application.

 

Regents Professional Opportunity Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: May 31

Applicant must be beginning or already enrolled in an approved degree-bearing program of study in New York State that leads to licensure in a particular profession. Purpose of award is to increase representation of minority and disadvantaged individuals in New York State licensed professions.

 

Eight and Forty Lung and Respiratory Nursing Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: May 15

Applicant must be a registered nurse seeking advanced preparation for a full-time position in supervision, administration, or teaching with a direct relationship to lung and respiratory control.

 

Sad Sack Nursing Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must have been accepted into an approved nursing program in Illinois. Selection is based upon satisfactory academic record, character, extracurricular activities, and financial need.

 

Past President's Parley Nurses Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: April 20

Applicant must be a member of the North Dakota American Legion Auxiliary and have an interest in nursing.

 

Paul Beeson Career Development Award

Award: $800,000, Deadline: November 23

Applicant must have a clinical doctoral degree (M.D., D.O., D.D.S.) or its equivalent (this may include individuals holding both a M.D. and Ph.D. degrees as well as individuals with a Ph.D. in clinical fields such as clinical psychology, nursing, or physical therapy). Selection is based upon academic merit, the quality and originality of the research project, a well-developed mentorship plan, and the commitment of the sponsoring institution.

 

Rosemary Berkel Crisp Research Award

Award: $5,000, Deadline: December 1

Applicant must be a registered nurse with a current license, hold a master's or doctoral degree or be enrolled in a doctoral program, and have a project that is ready for implementation. Membership in Sigma Theta Tau International is required. Some preference given to Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, and Tennessee residents.

 

Association of periOperating Registered Nurses (AORN) Foundation Grant

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must have a master's degree in nursing, be a registered nurse with a master's degree and a current license in the perioperative setting or applicant must be a registered nurse who demonstrates interest in or significant contributions to perioperative nursing practice. AORN research application must be sumbitted. Priority is given to research studies that relate to the AORN research priorities. Membership in either AORN or Sigma Theta Tau is acceptable but not required.

 

Arkell Hall Foundation Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must attend the Decker Sch of Nursing. Preference given to applicants who reside in Fulton, Herkimer, Montgomery, or Schoharie County in New York.

 

Dyer-Johnston-Dixon Nursing Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must attend the Decker School of Nursing and be a graduate from Binghamton or Seton Catholic Central high schools.

 

UHS Hospitals Nursing Scholarship

Award: $750, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a minority or an immigrant with U.S. citizenship, reside in Broome, Chenango, Delaware, or Tioga County, N.Y., or in Susquehanna County, Penn., have a minimum 3.0 GPA, demonstrate financial need, and be attending or plan to attend the Decker Sch of Nursing full time.

 

Decker School of Nursing Alumni Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must attend the Decker School of Nursing, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and demonstrate financial need.

 

Dr. G. Clifford and Florence B. Decker Endowment

Award: $721, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must attend the Decker School of Nursing, demonstrate financial need and academic merit, and reside within 60 miles of SUNY at Binghamton.

 

Nursing Student Assistant Award

Applicant must be an Oklahoma resident and a U.S. citizen. Interview required.

 

Parry Scholarship

Applicant must demonstrate financial need. Junior applicant must have a minimum 3.5 GPA. Senior applicant must have a minimum 3.25 GPA. Graduate applicant must have a minimum 3.75 GPA.

Eleanora G. Wylie Scholarship for Nursing

Applicant must be a West Virginia resident enrolled full time at an accredited college or university, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, and demonstrate good moral character. Preference given to applicants pursing a nursing education or specifically in the broad field of gerontology.

 

Mary T. Price Scholarship

Award: $1,200, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior of Logan High School who plans to enroll in a field of study in registered nursing from an accredited college in West Virginia. Minimum 2.5 GPA and composite ACT score of 20 required.
