Award: $350, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a West Virginia resident enrolled full time at an accredited college or university, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, and demonstrate good moral character. Preference given to applicants pursing a nursing education or specifically in the broad field of gerontology.

 

Dr. Joseph C. Basile II Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a West Virginia resident enrolled at any college or university in West Virginia and studying in the field of education. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Bernardine Bess Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior from St. Albans High School. Financial need is required.

 

Pauline Haddad Bsharah Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a graduate of Sherman High School or Marsh Fork High School. Selection is based upon financial need, academic performance, leadership abilities, and demonstrated contributions to school or community.

 

Crichton High School Alumni Scholarship

Award: $600, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Greenbrier West High School or a GED recipient living in the Crichton Public School attendance area Financial need and minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

Jerry L. Dove Memorial Fund Scholarship

Award: $1,200, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior from South Charleston High School who demonstrates academic potential and moral character, and is committed to the values of fairness and justice. Financial need and minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

Helen M. Goode Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a resident of West Virginia who is a graduating senior of Lincoln County High School. Minimum 2.5 GPA and minimum composite ACT score of 20 required.

 

Gordon C. and Mildred R. Jackson Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a West Virginia resident and a graduate of Mason County High School. Selection is based upon financial need, academic performance, and potential leadership abilities. Letter of recommendation, personal essay, transcripts, and IRS form 1040 required.

 

Kamm Family Fund Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior of Nicholas County High School who is planning to attend a state-operated school in West Virginia. Applicant must be able to demonstrate academic performance, leadership ability, and contribution to school and community. Minimum 2.0 GPA and minimum composite ACT score of 20 required.

 

Michael Brian 'Boo' Lopez Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a West Virginia resident who is a graduating senior of Nitro High School. Selection based on high moral character, sense of loyalty to family and friends, academic performance, ability to set attainable goals, respected by peers, and having demonstrated school spirit. Minimum 2.5 GPA and minimum composite ACT score of 20 required.

 

Beatrice Stephenson Lorentz Scholarship

Award: $900, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a resident of West Virginia who is a graduate of Clay County High School. Applicant must be well-rounded and involved in school and community activities. Minimum 2.5 GPA and minimum composite ACT score of 20 required.

 

Ernest and Iva Mearns Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a West Virginia resident who is a graduating senior of Nicholas County High School. Minimum 2.5 GPA and composite ACT score of 20 required.

 

Margaret Parsons Porky Moss

Award: $850, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior of South Charleston High School in West Virginia. Minimum 2.5 GPA and composite ACT score of 20 required.

Applicant must be a graduating senior of Logan High School who plans to enroll in a field of study in registered nursing from an accredited college in West Virginia. Minimum 2.5 GPA and composite ACT score of 20 required.

Applicant must be a West Virginia resident and a graduating senior from Chapmanville High School who plans to attend a college or university full time.

 

W. Michael Rollins Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior of Oak Hill High School who is able to demonstrate academic achievement. Minimum 2.5 GPA and composite ACT score of 20 required.

 

Brandon Matthew Sneed Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,200, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a resident of West Virginia who is a graduating senior of Nitro High School. Applicant must demonstrate loyalty to family and friends, be of high moral standards, and be academically sound/physically fit within their abilities. Minimum 2.5 GPA and composite ACT score of 20 required.

 

Elizabeth H. Thomas Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a West Virginia resident who is a graduating senior of Logan High School planning to attend any college or university in West Virginia. Applicant must be in a teaching program. Minimum 2.5 GPA and composite ACT score of 20 required.

 

Elizabeth Underwood Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be a West Virginia resident and a graduate of Riverside High School who plans to attend an accredited college or university full time, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, and demonstrate good moral character.

 

Kenneth and Mildred Ward Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a West Virginia resident and a graduate of Clay County High School. Selection is based upon academic excellence with preference given to students with financial need who are attending a West Virginia college or university.

 

Andrew K. Teeter Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a resident of the Greater Kanawha Valley, WV and a high school graduate or full-time undergraduate student.

 

Mason Crickard Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a West Virginia resident who demonstrates good character, scholastic ability, leadership, and financial need. Preference given to residents of Randolph County, Upshur County, and the Greater Kanawha Valley area.

 

Elizabeth S. Johnston Memorial Fund Scholarship

Applicant must be attending the University of Charleston who is able to demonstrate scholastic ability. Minimum 2.5 GPA and minimum composite ACT score of 20 required.

 

King-Alderson Family Fund Scholarship

Applicant must be attending West Virginia University or Alderson Broaddus College. Academic ability must be demonstrated. Minimum 2.5 GPA and minimum composite ACT score of 20 required.

 

Harriet Engstrom Nelson Fund Scholarship

Applicant must be a West Virginia resident enrolled full time and demonstrate academic ability. Preference given to upperclass students pursuing a degree in education. Letter of recommendation, personal essay, transcripts, and IRS form 1040 required.

 

John W. and Ruth E. Powell Scholarship

Applicant must be a resident of Kanawha County, W.Va. who is enrolled full time, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, and demonstrate good moral character.

 

Robert D. Ashworth Fund Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be the member of or have immediate family as a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Charleston, WV.

 

Henry E. King Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a West Virginia resident and an immediate family member of an owner or employee of a company that is a current member of, and has been a member of, the Home Builders Association of Greater Charleston for at least one full year. Applicant must be enrolled full time in a two- or four-year undergraduate program at an accredited college or university. Letter of recommendation, personal essay, transcripts, and IRS form 1040 required.

 

SCPA Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a West Virginia resident whose family member is employed or has been previously employed by the coal industry within Southern West Virginia. Employee must work for a company involved in the mining and processing of coal that is located within the following W.Va. counties: Boone, Braxton, Cabell, Calhoun, Clay, Fayette, Greenbrier, Jackson, Kanawha, Lincoln, Logan, Mason, McDowell, Mercer, Mingo, Monroe, Nicholas, Pocahontas, Putnam, Raleigh, Randolph, Roane, Summers, Wayne, Webster, and Wyoming. Selection is based upon financial need.

 

West Virginia Broadcasters Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be West Virginia resident and an employee or family member of an employee of a station that is a member of the West Virginia Broadcasters Association. First priority given to applicants in the broadcast field; second to applicants who demonstrate financial need. GPA and any unusual circumstances are also considered.
