New York Women in Communications Foundation Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a student from New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania majoring or (for high school seniors) declaring a major in a communications-related field with a minimum GPA of 3.2. Selection is based upon academic excellence and need and involvement in the field of communications.

 

New York Women in Communications Foundation Scholarships

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student who intends to pursue or further a career in communications.

 

South Carolina Press Association Foundation Internship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: January 1

Applicant must be attending a school in South Carolina and be interested in a career in print journalism. Preference given to journalism, advertising, or communications majors.

 

SEMA Memorial Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen who is enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college, university, or post-secondary vocational/technical program in the United States. Applicant must have completed half of their total curriculum requirements/classroom hours by the application deadline in a field leading to a career in the automotive aftermarket or related field. Minimum 2.5 GPA required. Recipient must remain a full-time student for their first full semester, quarter, or term following receipt of the award.

 

HPRA Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: June 5

Applicant must be an outstanding undergraduate Hispanic student who is pursuing a career in public relations and related communications fields.

 

Bob Ellis/Adcraft Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, have sincere career interest, and demonstrate academic merit and financial need.

 

AWC Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a Washington resident attending a Washington four-year school. Selection is based upon financial need and academic achievement.

 

Florida Times-Union Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a minority student, be from the Jacksonville, North Florida, or South Georgia area, and be planning a career in newspaper advertising or print journalism.

 

Knight Foundation Minority Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a minority student.

 

Miami Herald Minority Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a minority student planning a career in newspaper advertising or journalism.

 

New York Times Minority Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a minority student.

 

Orlando Sentinel/Sun-Sentinel of Ft. Lauderdale Minority Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a minority student who is planning a career in newspaper advertising or journalism. Preference is given to applicants from the Ft. Lauderdale and Orlando areas.

 

Palm Beach Post Minority Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a minority student from the West Palm Beach area.

 

St. Petersburg Times Minority Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a minority student planning a career in print journalism or advertising. Preference is given to applicants from the St. Petersburg area.

 

West Virginia Broadcasters Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be West Virginia resident and an employee or family member of an employee of a station that is a member of the West Virginia Broadcasters Association. First priority given to applicants in the broadcast field; second to applicants who demonstrate financial need. GPA and any unusual circumstances are also considered.

 

Owen Leffler Memorial Scholarship

Award: $250, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, demonstrate financial need and academic ability.

 

J.D. Edsal Advertising Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: April 29

Applicant must be a Rhode Island resident who is a college undergraduate (sophomore or above) studying advertising (public relations, marketing, graphic design, film or broadcast production) with the expectation of pursuing a career in one more of those fields.

 

Skills USA Championship

Award: $20,000, Deadline: End of June

Students who are members of SkillsUSA may compete in local, state, and national championships. The winners of the national championships are awarded the following scholarships. Winners of the Advertising Design, Culinary, Photography, and Web Design championships will be awarded a $20,000 tuition scholarship. Winners of the 3-D Visualization and Animation as well as the Television Production championships will be awarded a $10,000 tuition scholarship. Each Art Institute has a limited number of scholarships. Winners are permitted to choose The Art Institute location of their choice and scholarships will be awarded on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Helena Rubinstein Foundation Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: August 12 (fall); March 16 (spring)

Applicant must be a full-time student with a minimum 3.0 GPA and who has completed at least 15 credits. Current FAFSA must be filed, personal statement, and two letters of recommendation must be submitted.

 

Patricia Collins Amaral Memorial Fund

Award: $600, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a senior who has a minimum 3.0 GPA and who has demonstrated the finest qualities of leadership through participation in campus organizations and has rendered service of significant benefit to the campus community.

 

Alumni Association Scholarship

Applicant must demonstrate community leadership and have met the award criteria established by the Alumni Association's Scholarship Committee. Applicant must have completed 12 credits last semester and 24 credits at Bridgewater State College as of December 31. Applicants who have transferred from Massachusetts Community Colleges, Dean College, or Quincy College are eligible to apply.

 

Ann Marie Brown Scholarship

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrate community service and campus leadership.

 

Hawaii State High School Communication Scholarship

Applicant must graduate from a Hawaii high school and plan to pursue a career in advertising, communication, corporate communication, journalism, speech, visual communications, or public relations.

 

HSF/HSBC-North America Scholarship Program

Award: $2,500, Deadline: January 31

Applicant must be a United States citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 who is of Hispanic heritage and enrolled as a full-time student in a degree-seeking program at an accredited college or university in the United States, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, or Guam with a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Applicant must be a current undergraduate sophomore or a current community college student who is planning on transferring to a four-year college or university; thus having junior status in the upcoming academic school year. Resume and FAFSA are required. Program will begin as of fall 2009.

 

HSF/GMAC SmartEdge Book Scholarship Program

Applicant must be a United States citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 who is of Hispanic heritage. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and have plans to enroll as a full-time student in a degree-seeking program at a four-year accredited institution in the United States, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, or Guam during the upcoming academic year. FAFSA is required. Program will begin as of fall 2009.

 

Shirely McKown Scholarship Fund

Applicant must be a college junior, senior or graduate student majoring in advertising, journalism or public relations at a four-year college or university. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Maine Public Relations Council Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 30

Applicant must be a college student attending an accredited college or university in Maine and majoring in public relations, broadcasting, journalism, or marketing/advertising.

 

Jim Springer Memorial Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a resident of the Coastal Bend who is a full-time college sophomore, junior, or senior majoring in public relations, marketing, advertising, or communications. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

Ann Arbor Ad Club Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be planning to become an undergraduate or graduate student who will be attending an accredited two- or four-year school, pursuing a major in advertising, communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, or a related field. Minimum 3.0 GPA, latest transcript, and two references are required.
