Applicant must be a resident of the Charleston area who is studying business or a related field. Preference given to students having prior business or entrepreneurial experience. Minimum 2.0 GPA and minimum composite ACT score of 20 required.

 

Diana B. Deardorff Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Riverside High School who will attend a college or university. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

Geraldine Gee Memorial Nursing Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a resident of Boone County who plans to study nursing at the start of their sophomore year. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Mary E. (Nalbach) Huseby Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a resident of the Cedar Grove area in West Virginia who plans to major in education. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

James S. Kessel Scholarship

Applicant must be a resident of Jackson County, WV who is a graduating senior of Ripley High School. Minimum 2.5 GPA and minimum composite ACT score of 20 required.

 

Bernice Pickens Parsons Fund Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a resident of West Virginia; preference will be given to Jackson County residents. Applicant must be planning to major in the fields of library science, nursing, or para-professional training in the legal field. Minimum 2.5 GPA and composite ACT score of 20 required.

 

President's Scholarship

Applicant must have a minimum 3.25 GPA, minimum composite ACT score of 23 or combined SAT Reasoning score of 1070, and be an out-of-state resident.

 

Norman S. and Betty M. Fitzhugh Scholarship

Applicant must be a resident of Kanawha County. Minimum 2.5 GPA and minimum composite ACT score of 20 required.

 

Ruth Ann Johnson Scholarship

Applicant must be a West Virginia resident who demonstrates academic excellence, financial need, and good moral character and is attending an accredited college or university as a full-time student in any state.

 

Kids' Chance of West Virginia Inc. Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be between 16 and 25 years of age and the child of a parent injured in a work-related accident in West Virginia. Applicant must be pursuing a field of study at an accredited trade, vocational school, college, or university. Preference given to applicants who demonstrate financial need, academic performance, leadership abilities, and contributions and potential contributions to school and community.

R. Ray Singleton Scholarship

Applicant must be a resident in one of the following counties: Boone, Clay, Fayette, Kanawha, Lincoln, or Putnam. Applicant must be attending a college or university in West Virginia. Minimum 2.5 GPA and composite ACT score of 20 required.

 

Lawrence C. Yeardley Scholarship

Applicant must be a West Virginia resident attending an accredited college or university full time, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, and demonstrate good moral character. Selection is based upon financial need and academic excellence.

 

Westmoreland Coal Company Fund for Medical Students Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a West Virginia resident who is attending an accredited medical college full time. Preference given to Boone County residents. Recipient must agree to practice medicine in Boone County, W.Va., upon completion of schooling for a period of time specified in scholarship application.

 

Bowles, McDavid, Graff, and Love Scholarship

Applicant must be a West Virginia resident enrolled as a freshman at the West Virginia University College of Law who demonstrates financial need and a strong record of academic excellence in undergraduate work.

 

Madeline B. McCrum Scholarship

Applicant must be attending West Virginia University College of Law. Minimum 2.5 GPA and composite ACT score of 20 required.

 

General Nonresident Scholarship

Applicant must be a nonresident, demonstrate high academic achievement, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and be a first degree-seeking student enrolled full time (minimum 12 credit hours per semester). Incoming freshman applicant must rank in top 3% of secondary school class. Sophomore, junior, and senior applicants must be current or previous recipients of award. Recipients must complete a minimum of 40 hours of Arizona community service off campus at a nonprofit agency during year of award.

 

Marie Shea Memorial Scholarship

Alumni Legacy Scholarship

Applicant must be the child of a parent who has a degree from U of Arkansas, Fayetteville and is a current member of the Arkansas Alumni Association. Applicant must be a nonresident of Arkansas and have a minimum 3.0 GPA and a composite ACT score of 24-36 (combined SAT I score of 1110-1600). Applicant must submit Arkansas Alumni Legacy Data Form and apply for and be accepted for admission.

 

Legacy Tuition Reduction Grant
