Shields-Gillespie Scholarship

Applicant must be an AOSA member who has been a member for the previous fiscal year, a U.S. citizen or have resided in the U.S. for the past five years, have financial need, and is actively involved in pre-school or kindergarten programs for low-income and racially-diverse populations.

 

Western Sunbathing Association Scholarship

Applicant must be an active military or veteran student over the age of 16. Three open-ended, personal, and thought-provoking questions must be answered. Applicants with the most persuasive, compelling, and well-written responses will be considered finalists.

 

Anna and Charles Stockwitz Children and Youth Loan

Applicant must be Jewish, be a resident of the San Francisco Bay area, and have a cosigner who resides in the Bay area.

 

Jacob Rassen Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,900, Deadline: October 31

Applicant must be Jewish, be under age 22, demonstrate financial need, and be a resident of Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, or Sonoma County, Calif. Award is for a study trip to Israel.

 

Stanley Olson Youth Scholarship

Applicant must be Jewish, be under age 26, demonstrate financial need, and be a resident of Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, or Sonoma County, Calif.

 

J. Clawson Mills Fellowship

Award: $20,000, Deadline: November 4

Applicant must submit typed application, full resume of education and employment, official transcripts, and a two-part statement not to exceed 1,000 words. Preference is given to mature scholars of demonstrated ability. Award is for study or research at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

 

Trent R. Dames & William W. Moore Fellowship

Award: $6,000, Deadline: February 10

Awarded on a competitive basis for a proposed research project for the exploration of new applications of geotechnical engineering or the earth sciences to social, economic, environmental, and political issues.

 

Educational Leadership Graduate Fellowship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: June 30

Applicant must be a full-time graduate student in any field of education and a member in good standing of Phi Delta Kappa. Selection based upon written essay, transcript, recommendation, and involvement with Phi Delta Kappa.

 

College Fee Waiver

Applicant must be a California resident who is planning to attend a California public community college or university, and who is the child of a veteran who has a service-connected disability or who died a service-related death. Annual income, including support from parents, cannot exceed $8,480.

 

Kathern F. Gruber Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: April 20

Applicant must be the child or spouse of a legally blind veteran and must be accepted or enrolled full-time at an accredited college. Selection is based upon application, transcript, three recommendations, and 300-word essay.

 

Louise Wallace Hackney Fellowship for the Study of Chinese Art

Award: $8,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and must have completed three years study of the Chinese language.

 

James B. Pearson Fellowship

Award: $4,375, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a Kansas resident attending a Kansas school. Preference is given to applicants whose studies are directly related to foreign affairs. Fellowship is to encourage graduate students to experience the global perspective gained from study abroad.

 

Blind and Deaf Student Exemption

Applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent, demonstrate high moral character, meet entrance requirements for Texas public colleges/universities, and submit certification of deafness or blindness from the appropriate state vocational rehabilitation agency.

AORN Scholarship

K2TEO Martin J. Green, Sr. Memorial Scholarship

You've Got a Friend Scholarship

Applicant must have at least a general class radio license and be a member of the ARRL. Preference is given to Pennsylvania residents.

 

Charles N. Fisher Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must have an amateur radio license and be attending a regionally accredited school. Preference is given to residents of the ARRL Southwestern Division (Arizona and Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, and Santa Barbara, Calif.).

L. Phil Wicker Scholarship

Applicant must have at least a general class radio license and be attending school in the ARRL Roanoke Division (North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia). Preference is given to residents of North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.

 

Perry F. Hadlock Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must have at least a technician class radio license. Preference is given to students majoring in electronic engineering who are members of the ARRL Atlantic and Hudson divisions.

 

Finlandia Foundation Trust Scholarship

Applicant must be a U.S. or Finnish college student.

 

Pablo Neruda Prize for Poetry

Applicant must submit three to 10 pages of poetry.

 

International Foodservice Editorial Council Annual Scholarship

Applicant must be currently enrolled and in good standing in a post-secondary, degree-granting educational institution. Evidence of training, skill and interest in both foodservice and the communication arts are required.

 

Amy Louise Hunter Fellowship

Application, supplemental materials, or book manuscript eligible for publication by the State Historical Society of Wisconsin Press are required to be submitted. Applicant is encouraged to discuss his or her project with the editorial director prior to submission.
