Scholarships in Fine Arts

Ethel Denton Groos Memorial Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a resident of Barry County who will pursue a four-year degree in fine arts.

 

Edward A. and Shirley B. Livi Scholarship

Award: $8,000, Deadline: March 30

Applicant must be a resident of Franklin, Hampden, or Hampshire County, MA who will pursue education in the fine or performing arts.

 

Martha L. Frost Scholarship

Award: $250, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Greensburg Community High School who will pursue post-secondary education.

 

Alfred E. Jones & Anna B. Jones Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a resident of Fayette County, PA planning to attend Penn State Fayette and major in nursing, or to major in fine art at any college or university. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Classen 55 Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Classen School of Advanced Studies who will pursue a fine arts degree at an accredited post-secondary institution in the United States.

 

Albert S. and Ella D. Koeze Art Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 19

Applicant must be enrolled full-time at Grand Valley State University as a junior, senior or graduate student pursuing a degree in fine arts. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Alexander Calder Honor Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a full-time senior at Grand Valley State University majoring in a fine arts program.

 

Design Grant

Award: $4,000, Deadline: December 16

To apply for one of the two student scholarship grants, applicant must be currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in an art or design program. To apply for the one open grant, anyone may apply, with the exclusion of those applying for student grant (alumni and other majors are welcome).

 

Soon Young Rhee Park Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 31

Applicant must be Korean-American and be enrolled as a full time student studying fine arts, literature, or music. Selection is based upon financial need, academic achievement, extracurricular activities, and community service.

 

David L. Hitchens Scholarship in Honor of Frances Marie Rasmussen

Award: $2,372, Deadline: February 3

Applicant must be a a first-generation college student enrolled full-time at Evergreen State College majoring in the arts, humanities, or social sciences. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Mark Blakley Memorial Award

Award: $1,544, Deadline: February 3

Applicant must be enrolled at Evergreen State College majoring in the fine arts.

 

Arts Council of Greater Grand Rapids Minority Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a student of color (African American, Asian, Hispanic, Native American, Pacific Islander) who is a Kent County, MI, resident. Applicant must be attending a non-profit public or private college/university and majoring in fine arts (including all visual and performing art forms). Financial need and minimum 2.5 GPA are required.

 

Haddy Harrington Memorial Scholarship

Award: $750, Deadline: March 3

Applicant must be a graduate from a Henderson County high school who plans to continue their education and study art or writing. Financial need is required.

 

Carrie Crystal Stuckert Memorial Art Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: April 19

Applicant must be a high school student who plans to pursue a degree in visual arts.

 

Natalie A. W. Leaf Fund Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: June 30

Applicant must be at least 18 years old, demonstrate financial need, and reside in Chester County. Must have an interest in arts, crafts, and trades.

 

East Village Fine Art Contest

Award: $300, Deadline: May 2

Applicant must be U.S. high school student with an interest in art. Applicant is required to create a piece of art that promotes volunteerism and complete at least five hours of community service.

 

Krylon Clear Choice Art Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 31

Applicant must be a high school senior, college freshmen, or college sophomore in the U.S. or Canada and enrolled in a visual arts program. Portfolio, personal statement, letter of recommendation, and copy of a transcript required.

 

Catherine W. Pierce Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: Open

Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA, be pursuing a degree in an art or history discipline, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and have unmet financial need that is verified by the college or university financial aid office. UNCF students are encouraged to complete the UNCF General Scholarship application to be matched with scholarships for which they meet the criteria.

 

Minnesota Academic Excellence Scholarship

Applicants must be Minnesota residents who have been admitted to a full-time program in an approved Minnesota college or university. Applicants must have demonstrated achievement in one of the following subjects: English or creative writing, fine arts, foreign language, math, science or social science.

 

Worldstudio AIGA Scholarships

Award: $6,000, Deadline: April 22

Applicants must be full-time undergraduate or graduate students in fine arts, graphic design, illustration, interactive design/motion graphics or photography. They must have a GPA of at least 2.0 and demonstrate financial need. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Minority and economically disadvantaged students will be given special consideration.

 

Lois Livingston McMillen Memorial Fund

Applicants must be women who plan to study art at an accredited college or university, or in an artist-in-residence program. They must also live in the Connecticut Community Foundation's service area.

 

Cynthia and Alan Baran Fine Arts and Music Scholarship Fund

Award: -, Deadline: March 15

Applicants must be current students at an accredited college or university, take at least six credit hours and be enrolled in a bachelor's of fine art, bachelor's of studio art, master's of fine art or bachelor's or master's in music program. Art students must major in painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, photography or printmaking. Preference for music scholarships is given to those studying acoustic mandolin or acoustic guitar. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.

 

MVP Visuals Design Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: January 1

Applicants must be planning to attend or be current undergraduate students at a U.S. university and must major in graphic arts and design or applied arts. Students must create a digital visual design based on the University they are or will be attending.

 

Malala Yousafzai Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: December 1

Applicants must be women aged 30 or older who are starting post-secondary education or returning to school to continue interrupted studies. Students must be pursuing education in the arts and design field.
