Jack M. Wilson Presidential Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be an undergraduate or graduate student who has completed a minimum of 15 credits with a minimum 3.25 GPA. Preference given to business, engineering, and physics majors, and for those studying any major abroad.

 

Ella Brehm Scholarship

Award: $600, Deadline: None

Applicant must be a Massachusetts resident with a minimum of 30 completed credits. Applicant must be majoring in chemistry, mathematics/computer science, physics, anthropology, psychology, or biology. Financial need required.

 

SAME Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: March 18

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior or current undergraduate student who is pursuing (or intending to pursue) a degree in an engineering field or related technical sciences, including architecture, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or earth sciences.

 

Heinlein Society Scholarship Program

Award: $1,250, Deadline: May 15

Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student at an accredited college. One scholarship awarded to a woman majoring in engineering, math/physical sciences (physics/chemistry). Two scholarships awarded to male or female students majoring in science fiction as literature. Students must submit a 500-1,000 word essay on one of the topics listed on the website.

 

Donna Weistrop and David B. Shaffer Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: December 1

Applicant must be a master's student at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas graduate college pursuing a degree in astronomy, chemistry, geoscience, or physics. Preference given to students in physics or astronomy. Minimum 3.5 GPA, resume, statement of purpose, unofficial transcript, and one letter of recommendation required. Recipient must remain in good standing in degree program and complete a minimum of six graduate credits each semester of the scholarship year.

 

BMO Capital Markets Lime Connect Equity Through Education Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: December

Applicant must have a disability (visible or invisible). Must be a current full-time undergraduate or graduate student at a university in the U.S. or Canada with an interest in a career in financial services focusing on Capital Markets. Resume, transcripts, essay, and one letter of reference required.

 

Edison Scholars Program

Award: $10,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a high school senior who is majoring in chemistry, computer science, engineering, information systems, materials science, math, or physics. Minimum 2.8 GPA required. Financial need must be demonstrated. Preference given to first-generation college students who have overcome a significant obstacle or challenge.

 

Flosum Scholarship

Award: $750, Deadline: December 15

Applicant must be an outstanding college student enrolled in an accredited four-year institution in the U.S. studying salesforce release management or application lifecycle management with a demonstrated interest in salesforce. Minimum 3.5 GPA, cover letter, and 1,000-word essay required.

 

Herbert Levy Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicants must be physics majors, be members of SPS and demonstrate scholarly achievement and financial need.

 

SPS Future Teacher Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicants must be members of SPS and intend to pursue a career in teaching physics. Students must be undergraduate physics majors at least in their junior year of study at the time of application.

 

Peggy Dixon Two-Year Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicants must be members of SPS. Students must have finished at least one semester or quarter of the introductory physics sequence and must be registered in the appropriate subsequent physics classes.

 

SPS Leadership Scholarships

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicants must be undergraduates at least in their junior year, physics majors and active members of SPS.

 

NOAA Educational Partnership Program Undergraduate Scholarships

Award: -, Deadline: January 31

Applicants must be U.S. citizens and full-time undergraduates who are in the second year of a four-year degree program or in the third year of a five-year degree program. They must be attending an accredited minority serving institution (MSI), and they must have a GPA of 3.2 or higher on a four-point scale. Applicants must be majoring in a discipline that is related to environmental, atmospheric or oceanic sciences. Selection is based on relevant coursework completed, stated career goals, recommendations and extracurricular activities.

 

Society of Vacuum Coaters Foundation Scholarship

Award: -, Deadline: December 1

Applicants must be entering or currently enrolled in studies related to vacuum coating technology at an accredited technical, vocational, two-year, undergraduate or graduate program. Preference is given to those majoring in engineering, physics, materials science or other fields related to vacuum coating. Selection is based on the applicant's field of study, academic achievement, personal qualities and financial need.

 

Kathryn D. Sullivan Earth and Marine Science Fellowship

Award: $12,000, Deadline: January 23

Applicants must be U.S. citizens and be either full-time graduate students enrolled in an accredited consortium member institution or a successful applicant for full time admission to a Masters or Doctorate program in an accredited consortium member institution. Selection is based on recommendation letters, academic merit, faculty sponsorship and stated academic goals and interests in science, technology and engineering.

 

Math and Science Initiative Award

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicants must be new, full-time freshmen students who have a declared major of biology, biochemistry, chemistry, computer science, environmental science, math, neuroscience or physics. Students must meet the minimum requirements for the Presidential Scholarship to qualify for the Math and Science award.

Applicants must be a student in the Physics Department at Alabama A&M University.

 

Louis Stokes Alabama AMP Scholarship

Applicants must be undergraduate students at Alabama A&M University who maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average and who major in one of the following: Computer Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering or Environment Science.

 

Quanta Picosecond Laser Annual Scholarship

Applicants must enrolled in an accredited college or university for the upcoming year. Students must have a GPA of 3.0 and plan to pursue education in engineering, physics, medicine, biology or natural or applied sciences.
