O.S. Wyly Endowed Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduate of Walhalla High School and have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA. Financial need is considered.

 

Departmental Entrance Scholarship

Applicant must be enrolled in the Inst for Cooperative Education.

 

Tom and Patti Cronk Award

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a full-time student with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

 

Northrop Grumman Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: February 28

Applicant must be a female full-time student at the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Engineering. Focus on one of the following disciplines is required: civil and materials, electrical and computer, computer science, or mechanical engineering. Applicant must show evidence of above average academic performance (minimum GPA 3.0/4.0). Women of color (African American, Latina, Native American) are encouraged to apply. Application coversheet, biographical statement, current resume or CV (list your education and employment history), UIC transcript, proof of financial aid eligibility, proof of U.S. citizenship (copy of birth certificate or passport), and two letters of recommendation (include at least one from a UIC instructor) required.

 

Undergraduate Work Grant

Applicant must demonstrate an interest in science through projects or presentations.

 

Carlson Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduate of any secondary school in Coshocton, Guernsey, Muskingum, or Tuscarawas counties in Ohio. Application and essay required. Scholarship offered in exchange for a three-year commitment to teach math or science in a Coshocton County public school.

 

Fellowship in Oceanography for Minority Undergraduates

Award: -, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a minority student who is a U.S. citizen or permanent resident enrolled in a U.S. college or university, and has an interest in marine policy, marine sciences, or oceanographic engineering. Application, current curriculum vitae or resume, transcript, at least three letters of recommendation, and personal statement are required to be submitted.

 

George E. Moore Minority Physics Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must demonstrate academic merit and enroll full-time. Preference given to African-American applicants.

 

Ted S. and Cuba Webb Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must have high SAT Reasoning or ACT scores. Preference given to applicant who has graduated from an accredited high school in the greater Forth Worth and/or Tarrant County, Texas, or adjacent geographical area.

 

Lin Graduate Research Fellowship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be an incoming graduate student who has demonstrated excellence in undergraduate work and shows great promise for Ph.D. research. Award will be combined with regular teaching assistantship or research assistantship.

 

VSGC Undergraduate Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and Vermont resident and a graduating senior in a Vermont high school or a current undergraduate with a minimum 3.0 GPA enrolled in a degree program in a Vermont institution of higher education. Applicant must plan to attend a Vermont institution of higher education full time for the following academic year and plan to pursue a professional career which has direct relevance to the U.S. aerospace industry and the goals of NASA. Three awards will be given to Burlington Technical College-Aviation Technology Program.

 

McKnight Doctoral Fellowships

Award: $17,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be an African-American or Hispanic student who holds a minimum of a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Awarded to applicants who intend to seek a Ph.D. degree in the disciplines of arts and sciences, mathematics, business, or engineering.

 

William Robert Simmons Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: September 30

Applicant must have a minimum 3.2 GPA, demonstrate an exuberant and inquisitive attitude toward learning. Applicant must qualify for Colorado in-state tuition, be enrolled for six or more credit hours per semester.

 

Karen and Bruno Schmidt Scholarship

Microsoft Women's Technical Scholarship

Applicant must be a woman who is a full-time student with a demonstrated interest in computer science and a minimum 3.0 GPA. Recipient must complete a salaried summer internship of at least 12 weeks at Microsoft Corporation in Redmond, Wash. Letter of recommendation, essay, resume, and transcripts required.

Applicant must be a member of a group that is underrepresented in the software field, such as African-American, Hispanic, or Native American. Applicant must be a full-time student with a demonstrated interest in computer science and a minimum 3.0 GPA. Recipient must complete a salaried summer internship of at least 12 weeks at Microsoft Corporation in Redmond, Wash. Letter of recommendation, essay, resume, and transcripts required.

 

Physics & Astronomy Scholarship

Applicant must be enrolled at the University of Missouri at Columbia.

 

Rickey Physics Scholarship

Applicant must be majoring in physics and be able to show exceptional academic achievement.

 

Leonard Howarth Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be an incoming freshman or transfer student who is interested in majoring in biology, chemistry, computer science, geology, mathematics, pre-engineering, or physics.

 

The Hubertus W.V. Willems Scholarship for Male Students

Award: $3,000, Deadline: April 28

Applicant must be a male student, majoring in engineering, chemistry, physics or mathematical sciences in undergraduate or graduate school. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

The Hubertus W.V. Willems Scholarship for Male Students

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be a male and a citizen of the United States and be applying to or accepted at an accredited college (excluding proprietary schools) in the United States. Undergraduate applicants must be full-time students and graduate applicants may be full or part-time students. Undergraduate students must possess a GPA of 2.5 (C+) and graduate students must possess a GPA of 3.0 (B). NAACP membership is highly desirable and the applicant must demonstrate financial need. Courtland Agre and Theodore Hanwick Science Scholarship

Applicant must be an incoming first-year student with high academic science achievement. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA in the proposed science major, be in top 30 percent of graduating class, and have completed intermediate algebra or pre-calculus.

 

Jacob, Sarah and Lawrence Zeldin Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must attend the summer CCAP program at the school prior to entrance.

 

Patricia Collins Amaral Memorial Fund

Applicant must be a senior who has a minimum 3.0 GPA and who has demonstrated the finest qualities of leadership through participation in campus organizations and has rendered service of significant benefit to the campus community.

 

Alumni Association Scholarship

Applicant must demonstrate community leadership and have met the award criteria established by the Alumni Association's Scholarship Committee. Applicant must have completed 12 credits last semester and 24 credits at Bridgewater State College as of December 31. Applicants who have transferred from Massachusetts Community Colleges, Dean College, or Quincy College are eligible to apply.

 

American Association of University Women Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must have completed at least 96 credits, 60 of which must have been completed at East Stroudsburg University, and must have a minimum 3.5 GPA.

 

Special Undergraduate Academic Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and a minimum combined SAT I score of 1500 (composite ACT score of 21).

 

Fr. Roland L. Heid Physics Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: March 1

Selection is based upon an examination of various aspects of high school physics.
