Frederick Burkhardt Residential Fellowship for Recently Tenured Students

Award: $75,000, Deadline: October 2

Applicant must be a U.S. or Canadian citizen or permanent resident. Award is intended to support an academic year of residence at any national residential research centers. Program encourages exchanges across disciplinary lines that can be especially helpful to deepening and expanding the significance of projects in the humanities and related social sciences. Applications must be submitted through the ACLS Online Fellowship Application system (OFA). OFA is accessible through the Fellowship and Grant Programs section of the web site.

 

Dissertation Research Grant

Applicant must be a resident of Kleberg County, Tex., with a minimum 2.75 GPA.

 

Cartography and Geographic Information Society Scholarship

Applicant must be a member of ACSM and be enrolled full time in a four-year or graduate program.

 

ACSM Fellows Scholarship

Applicant must be a member of ACSM and be enrolled in any of the ACSM disciplines.

 

Lambda Alpha International/Phoenix Chapter Scholarship

Applicant must have completed minimum six credit hours in major and have declared a major. Applicant must be available to participate in interview with Lambda Alpha International Scholarship Committee.

 

Phelps Dodge Foundation Scholarship

Applicant must be an Arizona resident, have a minimum 3.0 GPA (3.75 for incoming freshman), and demonstrate leadership ability and community service involvement. Preference given to students who reside in a Phelps Dodge area.

 

Memorial Conservation Scholarship

Applicant must be a New Jersey resident who is a full-time student in good standing at an accredited college. Applicant must be an undergraduate enrolled in a major curriculum of agriculture or natural resource conservation, including agronomy, soil science, plant science, forestry, geography, journalism, agricultural education, environmental science, wildlife or fisheries management, environmental engineering, and other areas related to conservation.

Alumni Association Scholarship

Applicant must demonstrate community leadership and have met the award criteria established by the Alumni Association's Scholarship Committee. Applicant must have completed 12 credits last semester and 24 credits at Bridgewater State College as of December 31. Applicants who have transferred from Massachusetts Community Colleges, Dean College, or Quincy College are eligible to apply.

Applicant must hold at least a bachelor's degree in geoscience, engineering, physics, chemistry, computer science, math, or geography. Applicant must be able to demonstrate a history of academic excellence and native fluency in Arabic, demonstrate English proficiency, exhibit exceptional leadership skills and cultural competency, be willing and able to travel to a regional location for a final selection activity, and be willing and able to reside in the United States for the full duration of study. Award is to assist in the completion of a master's or Ph.D. degree.

NOAA Educational Partnership Program Undergraduate Scholarships

Applicants must be U.S. citizens and full-time undergraduates who are in the second year of a four-year degree program or in the third year of a five-year degree program. They must be attending an accredited minority serving institution (MSI), and they must have a GPA of 3.2 or higher on a four-point scale. Applicants must be majoring in a discipline that is related to environmental, atmospheric or oceanic sciences. Selection is based on relevant coursework completed, stated career goals, recommendations and extracurricular activities.

 

Connecticut Association of Land Surveyors Memorial Scholarship Fund

Applicants must be Connecticut residents who are enrolled in or who have been accepted into a postsecondary academic program in surveying or a related subject (geography, engineering or science). They must have plans to pursue a career in land surveying and must demonstrate interest in the field through previous work experience or other activities. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

Oklahoma Society of Land Surveyors Scholarships

Applicants must be high school seniors who are planning to study land surveying in college, or they must be working toward licensure under the direct supervision of a professional land surveyor. High school seniors must be Oklahoma residents who have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Applicants who are already working in the field must be associate members of the Oklahoma Society of Land Surveyors (OSLS) and must be recommended by a registered professional land surveyor. Selection is based on citizenship, leadership and commitment to professional land surveying.
