Applicant must be a student from a public high school in the Rochester City School District. Selection based upon strength of academic program and number of eligible candidates.

 

Dr. Anna P. Burrell Scholarship

Dante Foundation Scholarship

NTA New York Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a permanent resident of New York, enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student in a travel-and-tourism- or hospitality- related program of study at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the U.S., with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applicants enrolled in a two-year college, will be entering the second year in the fall of the calendar year of application, and will have completed a minimum of 30 credit hours by the end of this semester or term. Applicants enrolled in a four-year college or university will be entering junior or senior year in the fall of the calendar year of application, and will have completed a minimum of 60 or 90 credit hours respectively by the end of this semester or term. Applicant is required to submit a U.S. passport as proof of citizenship, or U.S. Alien Registration Card as proof of permanent residency, a New York driver's license as proof of permanent state residency, resume, two evaluations and letters of recommendation (one academic, one professional), an official transcript, and an essay. Essay topic: Discuss what segment of the travel and tourism or hospitality industry your current program of study focuses on. What opportunities are you taking advantage of as you prepare for a career in the industry? Please tell us about your academic and extracurricular activities and experiences, i.e. work, internships, etc., and how they tie into your present and future goals. Mention any awards or commendations you have received relating to the travel and tourism or hospitality industry.

Applicant must be an out-of-state student. Minimum 3.0 GPA and minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1000 (composite ACT score of 21) required.

Applicant must be an out-of-state resident who is a first-time, full-time freshman or transfer student who meets two of the following criteria: minimum 3.5 GPA (3.25 transfer GPA); rank in top 10% of secondary school class; or minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1200 (composite ACT score of 27).

McKelvey Foundation Bronze Scholarship

Applicant either must have graduated from high school at least one year prior to application date and were unable to go to college because of financial considerations or had to leave college because of financial considerations. Applicant must reside on campus in a double room and must complete 25 hours of community service each year. Applicant must apply for financial aid via FAFSA each year and apply for additional scholarships.

Applicant must be a Hispanic student considered a non-resident of Arizona who has completed 12 or more College credits, with at least nine units in ESL. A 350- to 500-word letter stating reasons for deserving scholarship is required.

 

Success Scholarship

Applicant must not be a resident of Michigan. Minimum 3.2 GPA required.

 

Academic Community Enrichment Scholarship (ACE)

Award: $7,500, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be an out-of-state United States resident who satisfies at least two of the following criteria: ranks at least in the top 10% of their high school class; is a member of the National Honor Society; or has a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better. Applicants who do not meet that criteria, but possess significant leadership and involvement may also be considered.

 

Non-Resident Transfer Leadership Scholarship

Application, recommendation, and online essay in which applicant illustrates their geographic, ethnic and/or cultural background, and how it will contribute to an educationally diverse experience for students at the University, are required to be submitted.

 

Non-Resident Merit Scholarship

Alumni Association Non-Resident Scholarship for Incoming Freshmen

Applicant must be a current high school senior who is not a resident of Utah, but who's parent or grandparent is an University of Utah graduate. Applicant must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA and have been actively involved in service to their high school and/or community. Official transcript, a one-page essay, and letter of recommendation are required to be submitted.
