Allied Dental Health Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 10

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen with a minimum 2.8 GPA. Application forms, a copy of the school's letter of acceptance, two letters of recommendation, and a one page, typed, double-spaced biographical sketch required. Application forms must be original, typed, completed and signed, and be embossed with the school's official seal. Selection is based upon financial need, academic achievement, a biographical sketch, and letters of reference.

 

Small Cash Grant

Award: $100, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a certified, regular, associate, student member of ASCET, or a high school senior in the last five months of the academic year who have passing grades. Letters of recommendation required.

 

George M. Brooker Collegiate Scholarship for Minorities

Award: $2,500, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be a member of a minority group and a U.S. citizen. Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on 4.0 scale within their major and must have completed two courses in real estate or indicate an intent to complete such courses. Recipients must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA for the academic year for which the award applies or the scholarship may be revoked. Three letters of recommendation and essay (500 words maximum) required.

 

Edward J. Brady Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a United States citizen who is at least 18 years old and attending an institution in the United States in a welding engineering discipline. Minimum 2.5 GPA, financial need, and letter of reference required.

 

Past President's Parley Scholarship Assistance in Health Care Occupations

Award: $400, Deadline: May 15

Applicant must be enrolled in a health care occupations program, be a U.S. citizen, a resident of Arizona for at least one year, and attending an accredited Arizona school. Preference is given to an immediate family member of a veteran. Photograph, statement giving reasons for choosing a career in health care, three letters of reference, and transcripts are required to be submitted. Selection is based upon character, scholarship, financial need, and initiative.

 

Bernice Barnard Music Specialist Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: Varies

Applicant must be from the city of Ojai or Ventura. Applicant must submit three letters of recommendations, with two addressing applicant's musical qualifications.

 

Joyce M. Kennedy, Ph.D. Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 11

Applicant must have a minimum 2.5 GPA, reside in Ventura County, CA and attend CSUCI.

 

Ventura County Agriculture Scholarship

Award: $600, Deadline: January 29

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, demonstrate financial need, be the child of an agriculture worker, and a resident of Ventura County, CA.

 

J. Hugh and Earle W. Fellows Memorial Fund

Award: $120,000, Deadline: Rolling

Applicant must be a permanent resident of Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, or Walton County, FL, be of good moral character, and qualified scholastically and intellectually. Ministry majors must be associated with the Episcopal church or a faith whose religious beliefs are not in substantial conflict with the Episcopal church. Recipient must have been accepted by or be successfully pursuing training at an accredited college or university in the appropriate field of study.

 

James and Mary Dawson and Donald Malcolm MacArthur Scholarship

Award: $7,500, Deadline: April 30

Applicant must be a Scot coming from Scotland to the U.S. for graduate work and must plan to enroll full-time. Applicant must be able to cite his or her Scottish descent and submit a statement of plans and goals. Applicant must have a meritorious academic record and demonstrate financial need. Special attention is given to work that will demonstrably contribute to enhanced knowledge of Scottish history or culture, and preference is given to those pursuing scientific and engineering degrees.

 

Dan L. Meisinger Sr. Memorial Learn to Fly Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: Last Friday in November

Applicant must be a college student currently enrolled in an aviation program with a "B" average or better.

 

Dr. Nathan C. Schaeffer Scholarship

Award: $650, Deadline: February 26

Applicant must be a full-time education student, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, have financial need, and be a resident of Lancaster County, Penn.

 

John A. Baker Memorial Scholarship

Award: $250, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must have a 2.0 GPA and a strong desire to complete degree. Selection based on financial need.

 

Elizabeth A. Knapp Scholarship

Award: $750, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a female student who has delayed her formal education due to hardship.

 

Members-at-Large Educational Reentry Award

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a woman who has returned to academic studies after an absence of at least three years. Applicant must demonstrate exceptional qualities of interest, excellence, and professional potential in chemistry and must be nominated by a member of Iota Sigma Pi or by a faculty member. Transcripts, essay, and two letters of recommendation required.

 

Matsuo Bridge Company of Japan Grant

Award: $2,500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant be majoring in civil engineering or welding with a minimum 3.0 GPA. A valid United States passport is required.

 

FPMA Scholarship Award

Applicant must be a Florida resident member of FPMA.

 

Edna Wirt Woods & Ruth Nagel Scholarship

Applicant must be a Ventura County resident who is a female graduating from high school in the city of Ventura, has a minimum 3.3 GPA and demonstrates financial need.

 

Iris & Roger Wilkins Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: January 11

Applicant must be a Ventura County resident, enrolling at a public college, university or community college in California, who pursue an RN degree and demonstrate financial need.

 

Carville M. Akehurst Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 31

Applicant must be a resident of Maryland, Virginia, or West Virginia who is a full-time student with a minimum 2.7 GPA. Applicant must follow horticulture or landscape as a field of study and be able to demonstrate interest in working in the green industry. Application must be completed online.

 

Supervisor Jim Dougherty Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 11

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, went to high school in Moorpark or Simi Valley, and demonstrate financial need.

 

Charles Schuler Scholarship

Award: $750, Deadline: January 11

Applicant must be a graduate of a Ventura County high school, be a single parent, and plan to major in nursing, medical or education fields.

 

E. Power Biggs Fellowship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: February 28

Applicants aged 23 years of age or older cannot have previously attended an annual convention of the Organ Historical Society. Nomination and endorsement by a member of the Society is encouraged and required in most instances. Program is open to all persons interested in historic preservation.

 

Jean Andrews Nursing Scholarship

Award: $1,200, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be a resident of Addison County in Vermont who will pursue a degree in registered nursing or nursing education at an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Burlington Business and Professional Women's Organization Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be a resident of Addison, Chittenden, Franklin, Grand Isle, or Lamoille county, VT who is the head of a single-parent family and will attend an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Dr. Marc Hull Special Education Leadership Scholarship

Award: $1,250, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be a resident of Vermont pursuing a certificate or license in special education administration at an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required.

 

Jericho-Underhill Lions Club Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be a resident of Bolton, Bolton Valley, Huntington, Jericho, Richmond, or Underhill, VT who will attend an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding. Academic achievement, financial need, and community service must be demonstrated.

 

Helen J. Switzer Nursing Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be a resident of Windham County, VT who will enroll in a nursing program (LPN, AS, RN, BSN) at an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Vermont Mentoring Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be a resident of Vermont who is or has been a mentee in a recognized Mobius mentoring program for a minimum of two consecutive years (excluding e-mentoring). Academic achievement and financial need must be demonstrated.

 

TAHPERD Student Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student studying health education, physical education, recreation, and/or dance at a Texas college or university. Applicant must be a student member of TAHPERD as of March 1 of the application year and continue membership through the next year. Applicant must continue in the same program for fall and spring semesters as a full-time student during the academic year the scholarship is awarded. Letter from chair of applicant's department verifying the discipline in which the applicant is majoring and that he/she is a full-time student is required.
