Minority Scholarship Award for Physical Therapy Students

Applicants must be U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents. They must be African-American, Hispanic, Native American, Pacific Islander, Native Hawaiian or Alaska Native. They must be in the final year of an accredited or developing professional physical therapist program at the time of award disbursement. Students must demonstrate academic excellence, service to minority affairs and career potential. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

Michigan PA Foundation Annual Scholarship Award

Applicants must be in the final year of clinical study in a physician assistant degree program at a school located in Michigan. They must be involved in community service or professional activities and be outstanding academically or demonstrate financial need. Selection is based on professional involvement, community service, academic merit and financial need.

 

Mid-Atlantic Chapter CMAA Scholarships

Award: $3,000, Deadline: April 25

Applicants must be current full-time or part-time undergraduate or graduate level college students who are pursuing a curriculum related to the construction industry and reside or attend college in Pennsylvania, New Jersey or Delaware. Students must have completed one full year of academic studies and have a minimum of one full year of studies remaining.

 

Migrant Health Scholarships

Applicants must be employees at a migrant/community health center. They must be interested in seeking further training in health care. Special consideration will be given to applicants who have a family background in farm working. Selection is based on demonstrated professional commitment to migrant health, stated career goals and personal experiences.

 

Mine and Gonsakulto Scholarship

Applicants must be District 8 student members of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) who are of Asian descent. They must be enrolled in an undergraduate- or graduate-level athletic training program. Community college applicants and all other applicants must have a GPA of 3.2 or higher on a four-point scale. Non-community college undergraduates must be sponsored by a certified athletic trainer and must have junior standing. All applicants must have plans to pursue a career in athletic training. Selection is based on academic merit, extracurricular activities, leadership potential and athletic training achievement.

 

Phillips/Laird Scholarship

Applicants must be members of the Minnesota Nurses Association (MNA) who are enrolled in a bachelor's or graduate degree program in nursing with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference will be given to applicants who live or work in MNA District 13. Selection is based on academic merit, extracurricular activities, stated career goals and leadership.

 

Harold Bettinger Scholarship

Applicants must be U.S. or Canadian citizens or residents. They must be graduate students or rising undergraduate sophomores, juniors or seniors. They must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher. They must be horticulture students who are pursuing a major or minor in business or marketing, and must have plans to pursue a career in the horticulture business field. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

NAPA Research and Education Foundation Scholarship

Applicants must be U.S. citizens who are enrolled full-time at an accredited postsecondary institution. They must be majoring in construction management, civil engineering or construction engineering. The applicant's school must offer at least one course on hot mix asphalt (HMA) technology. Selection is based on academic achievement, leadership potential, extracurricular involvements and stated career goals.

 

Nathaniel Alston Student Achievement Award

Applicants must be current students in good standing who are enrolled in an accredited physician assistant program in the state of Pennsylvania. They must be current Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants (PSPA) members who demonstrate outstanding leadership and participation in their schools and communities. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

National Hispanic Health Professional Student Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: September 30 (NY); October 28 (CA)

Applicants must be Hispanic students who are enrolled in a postsecondary degree program in allied health, dentistry, medicine, nursing, health research, public health or health management and policy analysis. Selection is based on academic achievement, leadership skills and commitment to improving health care in the Hispanic community.

 

NCAPA Endowment Grant

Applicants must be current student members of the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants (NCAPA). They must be rising second- or third-year students in an accredited physician assistant degree program. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

New Jersey Physician Assistant Foundation/New Jersey State Society of Physician Assistants Scholarship

Applicants must be enrolled in a physician assistant degree program at a school located in the state of New Jersey. They must be student members of the New Jersey State Society of Physician Assistants (NJSSPA). Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

New York State Society of Physician Assistants Scholarship

Applicants must be NYSSPA members who are currently enrolled in an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant degree program in the state of New York. They must be in the professional phase of their degree program. Previous NYSSPA Scholarship winners, NYSSPA board members and NYSSPA committee chairs are ineligible. Selection is based on academic achievement, financial need and professional activities.

 

Nightingale Awards of Pennsylvania Scholarship

Applicants must be Pennsylvania residents who are enrolled in or have been accepted into a Pennsylvania nursing program in licensed practical nursing, registered nursing or graduate-level nursing practice. They must have completed at least one course in nursing and must have a B average or better. Previous recipients of this scholarship are ineligible. Ohio Turfgrass Foundation Scholarships

South Carolina Nurses Foundation Nurses Care Scholarship

RMEL Foundation Scholarships

Award: $3,000, Deadline: February 11

Applicants must be U.S. citizens and full-time students pursuing either a certificate, associate or baccalaureate degree in the electric energy arena including: power plant technology, electric line working, power line technology, electrical power technology, electrical line worker technology, electrical distribution systems, utility line technician and traditional or alternative power generation technology. Selection is based on future goals in the electric energy arena, motivation, service and academic performance.

 

Robert E. Dougherty Educational Foundation Scholarship Award

Applicants must be nominated for this award by a Robert E. Dougherty Educational Foundation member company or member institution. They must be North American citizens and be graduate or undergraduate students who are studying industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, chemistry, forest products, wood science or wood technology. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

Roy W. Likins Scholarship

Applicants must be undergraduate upperclassmen or graduate students who are enrolled at an accredited postsecondary institution located in Florida. They must be majoring in a subject that is related to the drinking water industry and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a four-point scale. Previous recipients of this award are ineligible. Selection is based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, character and stated career goals.

 

SHPE Scholarship Program
