Electrochemical Society Summer Fellowship

Applicant must be enrolled in a recognized college or university in the U.S. or Canada. Selection is based upon academic record, letter of recommendation, and personal statement. Award is for summer study and/or research. Recipient may not hold other appointments or fellowships.

Applicant must have an amateur radio license. Preference is given to residents of ARRL Midwest Division (Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska) and to children of deceased radio amateurs.

 

Edmond A. Metzger Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must have at least a novice class amateur radio license, be a member of ARRL, and be attending school in the ARRL Central Division (Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin). Preference is given to residents of Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin who are majoring in electrical engineering.

 

Dr. James L. Lawson Memorial Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must have a general class amateur radio license and be attending school in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, or Vermont. Preference is given to residents of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont who are majoring in communications, electronics, and related fields.

 

Mississippi Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be under 30 years of age, have an amateur radio license, and be studying in Mississippi. Preference is given to Mississippi residents.

 

Fred R. McDaniel Memorial Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must have at least a general class amateur radio license and be attending school in the FCC Fifth Call District (Arkansas, Louisiana, Michigan, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas). Preference is given to residents of Arkansas, Louisiana, Michigan, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas who have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Applicant must be a woman, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and be in an ABET-accredited engineering program, engineering at SWE-approved colleges and universities, or computer science in a CSAB-accredited program or at an ABET-accredited or SWE-approved institution.

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, rank in the top quarter of class, and have a minimum combined SAT I score of 1170 (composite ACT score of 26). Two letters of recommendation required.

 

Alcoa Electrical Engineering Scholarship

Applicant must have a minimum 2.7 GPA. Two letters of recommendation required.

Applicant must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA. Selection is based upon academic achievement, personal background as demonstrated by race, ethnicity, gender, and geographic origin, and interpersonal skills as demonstrated by extracurricular activities, community service, and work experience.

Northrop Grumman Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: February 28

Applicant must be a female full-time student at the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Engineering. Focus on one of the following disciplines is required: civil and materials, electrical and computer, computer science, or mechanical engineering. Applicant must show evidence of above average academic performance (minimum GPA 3.0/4.0). Women of color (African American, Latina, Native American) are encouraged to apply. Application coversheet, biographical statement, current resume or CV (list your education and employment history), UIC transcript, proof of financial aid eligibility, proof of U.S. citizenship (copy of birth certificate or passport), and two letters of recommendation (include at least one from a UIC instructor) required.

 

Rockwell Corporation Scholarship

Applicant must be a minority woman with a minimum 3.5 GPA. Applicant must demonstrate leadership ability and be in an ABET-accredited engineering program, engineering at SWE-approved institution, or computer science in a CSAB-accredited program or at an ABET-accredited or SWE-approved institution. Applicants from underrepresented groups preferred.

 

B.K. Krenzer Memorial Reentry Scholarship

Applicant must be a woman who has been out of the job market as well as out of school for a minimum of two years. Applicant must be in an ABET-accredited engineering program, engineering at SWE-approved colleges and universities, or computer science in a CSAB-accredited program or at an ABET-accredited or SWE-approved institution.
