Presidential Scholarship

Award: $8,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a first-time, domestic, undergraduate degree-seeking student entering the university in the fall. Applicant must have a cumulative 3.5 GPA at the end of their junior year and a minimum composite ACT score of 25 (combined SAT Reasoning score of 1130). Applicants are automatically considered for award provided they apply to the university.

 

HSF/Wells Fargo Scholarship Program

Award: $2,000, Deadline: December 15

Applicant must be a United States citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 who is of Hispanic heritage and is a current sophomore enrolled full-time with a minimum 3.0 GPA at a four-year accredited college or university in the United States; selected recipient must be enrolled as a junior during the award year. FAFSA is required. Program will be open as of fall 2009.

 

Merit Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be an incoming freshman student who will graduate high school on the United States mainland. Information provided on the admissions application, along with a high school transcript will determine criteria and eligibility of the award.

 

ASTA Pacific Northwest Chapter - William Hunt Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a permanent resident of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, or Washington, who is a full-time or part-time undergraduate student enrolled in a travel-and-tourism- or hospitality-related program of study at a two-, three-, or four-year college or university in the United States or Canada with a minimum 3.0 grade point average. Applicants enrolled at accredited two-year colleges, need to be entering second year in the fall of the calendar year of application, and will have completed a minimum of 30 credit hours by the end of this semester or term. Applicants at accredited three-year schools (Quebec) need to be entering third year in the fall of the calendar year of application, and will have completed 60 credit hours at the end of the semester or term. Applicants at accredited four-year colleges or universities, need to be entering junior year in the fall of the calendar year of application, and will have completed a minimum of 60 credit hours by the end of this semester or term or need to be entering senior year in the fall of the calendar year of application, and will have completed a minimum of 90 credit hours by the end of this semester or term. Online application, driver's license as proof of permanent residency, passport as proof of citizenship, resume, two evaluations and letters of recommendation (from academic and professional tourism- or hospitality-related individuals), official transcript, resume, and essay are required to be submitted. Essay topic: Discuss what segment of the travel and tourism or hospitality industry your current program of study focuses on. What opportunities are you taking advantage of as you prepare for a career in the industry? Please tell us about your academic and extracurricular activities and experiences, i.e. work, internships, etc., and how they tie into your present and future goals. Mention any awards or commendations you have received relating to the travel and tourism or hospitality industry.

Dean's Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a non-resident freshmen student who has a minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1150 (minimum composite ACT score of 25) and a GPA between 3.25 and 3.49.

 

Presidential Scholarship

Award: $9,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be an entering non-resident freshman student who has a minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1150 (minimum composite ACT score of 25) and minimum 3.75 GPA.

 

Provost's Scholarship

Award: $7,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be an entering non-resident freshman student who has a minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1150 (minimum composite ACT score of 25) and a high school GPA between 3.5 and 3.74.

 

Out of State Award

Award: $3,000, Deadline: May 1 (priority)

Applicant must be a United States resident who is living outside of New York State and who visits the college before January 31st of their senior year.

 

Jayhawk Generations Scholarship

Award: $12,154, Deadline: November 1

Applicant must be an admitted first-time, non-resident freshman student whose parent, step-parent, legal guardian, grandparent, step-grandparent, or great-grandparent earned a degree at the university. Minimum 3.5 GPA and combined SAT Reasoning score of 1090 (composite ACT score of 24) required.

 

Blazer Elite Scholarship

Applicant must be a non-resident student. Selection is based upon academic achievement.

Applicant must be a full-time student and one of the following: a United States citizen who is a non-Florida resident living in the United States or a United States territory or an eligible non-citizen (permanent resident).

 

Clark-Phelps Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a resident of Oregon or Alaska who is pursuing a degree in dentistry, medicine or nursing at a public college or university on Oregon. FAFSA required.

 

Neal O. Thorpe Memorial Scholarship

Award: $7,500, Deadline: May 31

Applicant must be a graduating senior or past graduate of Alaska who is the first in their immediate family to pursue post-secondary education and will attend an eligible university.

 

Pinkerton Orchestral Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: June 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior from a high school i Alaska who displays talent, dedication to music and a serious commitment to an advanced music education.

 

Shelly Szepanski Memorial Flight Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: June 15

Applicant must be a female enrolling in a science-related degree program who has passed the FAA written flight test and medical exams.

 

Jim Snead Memorial Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a resident of Alaska who is pursuing post-secondary education with a focus on international business, transportation, or a related industry.

 

David E. Knox Memorial Nursing Fellowship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a resident of Alaska pursuing a degree in nursing full-time. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Nording Skiing Association of Anchorage(NSAA) Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a resident of Alaska who was a member of the NSAA and their high school cross-country ski team during their junior and senior years. Minimum 2.7 GPA required.

 

Wrangell and Stika Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Sitka or Wrangell High School who will pursue post-secondary education.

 

Red Boucher Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduating senior from West High School in Anchorage, AK who will pursue post-secondary education. Financial need and academic potential must be demonstrated.

 

Melissa Faye Pike Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Dimond High School who demonstrates a strong interest in acting, dancing, modeling or veterinary medicine and will pursue post-secondary education. Minimum 2.0 GPA required.

 

William Lake Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: March 29

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Bloomingdale High school. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

Out-of-State Grant
