Fine Arts Scholarships

Award: $15,000, Deadline: February 1 (December 1 for early action/decision)

Selection is based upon high school record: GPA, difficulty of courses, class rank, and SAT or ACT scores. Audition or portfolio presentations for those applying to the Departments of Art, Music and Theatre are required. Talent may influence the award amount.

 

Buerkle Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduate of a Jackson, Klamath, or Josephine County high school who will pursue a degree in english, journalism, math, music or physical education at a public or nonprofit college or university. FAFSA required. Preference given to nontraditional students attending a college in Oregon with a 3.6 GPA or higher.

 

Kaech Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduate of a public high school in Portland, Oregon who is majoring in music. FAFSA and minimum 2.5 GPA required. Preference for reed instruments and those attending Portland State or Oregon State University, and then any other Oregon public or nonprofit college or university.

 

Churchill Family Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 26

Applicant must be a high school student from Maine who is planning to begin a four-year degree program in vocal music education or performance for the upcoming fall semester.

 

Jack F. and Edith Updyke Harmon Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Tennessee High School in Bristol, TN; Virginia High School, and John S. Battle High School, both in Bristol, VA; Sullivan Central High School in Blountville, TN; or Bland High School in Bland, VA. Applicant must be pursuing full-time enrollment at one of the following institutions: Emory & Henry College, King College, East Tennessee State University, or the University of Tennessee College of Agriculture in Knoxville. Financial aid and minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Abell Family String Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,100, Deadline: April 2

Applicant must be a student enrolled in or currently pursuing college coursework consistent with a degree in string music performance. Sampler performance on CD required.

 

Dorothy Pfenninger Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 16

Applicant must be a graduating senior from a Henry County high school who will major in music. Financial need and minimum 2.75 GPA required.

 

Laura Showalter Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 16

Applicant must be a resident of Bartholomew County who will study music at an accredited post-secondary educational institution.

 

Conservatory Talent Award

Award: $16,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be pursuing a degree within the Shenandoah Conservatory. Selection is based upon application for admission, audition, and needs of the conservatory. Applicant must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA and a minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 900 (composite ACT score of 19).

 

Owen Roettger Scholarship Endowment

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a Southridge High School graduate who is pursuing a bachelor's or post-graduate degree in music,

 

Marie M. Borden Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior from a Johnson County high school who will pursue a four-year full-time program in music or music education. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

Doell Family Scholarship

Award: $2,165, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior of a Chelan, Douglas, or Okanogan County high school who plans to major in journalism or music. Financial need and potential/scholastic ability required to be demonstrated.

 

Roy W. Hill Music Scholarship

Award: $16,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior from a Chelan or Douglas County high school who plans to major in music as a full-time student. Personal interviews required. Award is payed over four years.

 

Hal Newman Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,250, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior of Wenatchee High School who is seeking further education in instrumental or vocal music.

 

Charles Owen 'Corky' McCormick IV Memorial Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduate of a Johnson County high school who resides in Johnson County and will major in music or theatre full-time at a two- or four-year college or university. Minimum 2.75 GPA required.

 

Nick Schoffen Music Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior of Eastmont High School who plans to further their education in a music field at an accredited educational program in the United States.

 

Eric Scott Langdon and Diana Monzeglio Memorial Scholarship Fund for Artists

Award: $1,500, Deadline: April 16

Applicant must be a graduating senior from San Dieguito Academy who will be studying the arts, music or dance at a college or university. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

John T. and Joann C. Wills Music Educator's Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a Preston County, WV high school graduate who is regularly enrolled as an undergraduate student in a college or university, pursuing a course of study listed in order of consideration: music education, instrumental, or choral/vocal.

 

California Retired Teachers Association Division 55 Hilmer Finne Scholarship Fund

Award: $500, Deadline: April 13

Applicant must be a Mendocino County public high school senior who plans to attend a four-year college or university to pursue a career in music. Selection based upon commitment to music, proven talent, and positive outlook; prior academic performance; and community and/or extracurricular involvement.

 

Jerry Juhl Fund for the Arts

Award: $2,000, Deadline: April 13

Applicant must be a Mendocino, Fort Bragg, or Point Area high school senior who plans to attend a four-year college or university and study the performing arts, including music, dance, theatre, film, and puppetry. Selection based upon potential for career success in the performing arts and their prior academic performance. Minimum 3.0 GPA is desired, but not required.

 

Gerald Bergquist Music Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 30

Applicant must be a graduating senior from R.A. Long High School who participated in the music program and will attend an accredited college or university full-time. Minimum 3.5 GPA required.

 

Angela Svendsen Memorial Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 30

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior from Clark County who will pursue a degree in music education or performance at an accredited college or university.

 

Pinkerton Orchestral Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: June 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior from a high school i Alaska who displays talent, dedication to music and a serious commitment to an advanced music education.

 

Al Sanders Foundation for Music Studies Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: April 2

Applicant must be a graduating senior from a Baltimore County high school who will pursue a degree in music from an accredited four-year college or university. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required.

 

James J. and Margaret Mischler Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 25

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Troy High School who will pursue a major in music at a four-year college or university.

 

Clifford Byard Memorial Scholarship

Award: $300, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduate of South Decatur High School pursuing a degree in education, engineering or music.

 

Zetterberg Music Scholarship

Award: $950, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior from North or South Decatur High School who will pursue a degree in music.

 

Moore High School Alumni Association Music Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Moore High School who participated in band or choir.

 

Eugene A. Sharick Music Scholarship

Award: $800, Deadline: February 24

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Rittman High School who will attend an accredited post-secondary institution majoring in music.

 

Music, Art, Theatre Arts Performance Scholarships

Award: $3,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be majoring in a field of music, art, or theatre arts and continue with that major for which the scholarship is awarded. Audition (music, theatre) or portfolio review (art) required.
