Applicant must be a Canadian student entering the Faculty of Arts directly from high school and studying in the area of humanities or social sciences. Selection is based on academic achievement and a letter of reference.

Umpqua Community College Social Science Scholarship

Applicant must be a current Umpqua Community College outstanding social science student who has attended UCC for at least one year and will transfer to a four-year public or nonprofit college or university. FAFSA required.

Applicant must be a United States citizen or permanent resident who is a graduating high school senior or currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing an associates or bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: consumer sciences, cultural studies, ethnic studies, gender studies, geography, history, leisure studies, military studies, philosophy, political science, religious studies, social science, or social services.

 

KLL Scholarship

Applicant must be a United States citizen who is attending a two- or four-year college or university with an interest in education, arts, environment, math, or science. Applicant must have lost the life of at least one parent to cancer before the age of 22. Financial need and involvement in the community, church, school, or other non-curricular activity are required.

 

David L. Hitchens Scholarship in Honor of Frances Marie Rasmussen

Gamma Theta Upsilon-Geographical Honor Society

Applicants must be initiated through a Gamma Theta Upsilon chapter.

 

Harry S. Truman Research Grant

Award: $2,500, Deadline: April 1; October 1

Graduate students and post-doctoral scholars are most encouraged to apply, but others completing advanced research will be considered. Preference is given to research dealing with enduring public policy and foreign policy issues that have a high chance of being published or otherwise shared publicly. Applicants can receive up to two research grants in a five-year period. Grant winners must submit a report at the end of their studies.

 

John Kelly Labor Studies Scholarship Fund

Applicants must be members of OPEIU in good standing or associate members for at least two years, and applicants must be either undergraduate or graduate students in one of the following areas of study: labor studies, industrial relations, union leadership and administration or non-degree programs sponsored by the National Labor College at the George Meany Center or similar institution. The selections shall be based on recommendations of an academic scholarship committee.

 

Presbyterian Church USA Student Opportunity Scholarships

Applicants must be members of the Presbyterian Church (USA) who have completed their second year of college. They must be enrolled full-time and have a GPA of 2.5 or greater. Students must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in education, health service/science, religious studies, sacred music or social service/sciences. Financial need is required. Preference is given to members of racial and ethnic minorities.

 

Joey Parisi Memorial Scholarship

Applicants must be full-time international, council or local staff members or local union officers with substantial organizing responsibilities. The award provides the right to to participate in the college degree program at the National Labor College of the George Meany Center.

 

Minnesota Academic Excellence Scholarship
