Louis Stokes Health Scholars Program

Award: $8,000, Deadline: March 15

Program seeks to increase the number of qualified, yet underrepresented college students entering the health workforce. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate an interest to work in underserved communities.

 

Cora Aguda Manayan Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be majoring in a health-related field and be of Filipino ancestry. Preference may be given to applicants studying in Hawaii.

 

Dr. Hans and Clara Zimmerman Foundation Health Scholarships

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be a college junior, senior, or graduate student majoring in a health-related field (excluding sports medicine, psychology unless clinical, or social work) at a college or university in the U.S. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Nick Van Pernis Scholarship Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be a graduate of a public or private high school in the Districts of North Kona, South Kona, North Kohala, South Kohala or Ka'u who is majoring in biotechnology, early childhood education, health sciences or marine sciences.

 

Robanna Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be an undergraduate majoring in a health-related field.

 

APIASF/United Health Foundation

Award: $2,500, Deadline: January 13

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, national or legal permanent resident of Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity (as defined by the U.S. Census) who will plan to pursue a degree that will lead to a career in the health field, with intent to work in an under-served community. Applicant must be enrolling in an accredited college or university as a full-time, degree-seeking, first-year student in the upcoming academic year. Preference for students fluent in an Asian or Pacific Islander language, or who reside in or attend college in Texas, Illinois, California, New York, or New Jersey. Minimum 2.7 GPA required.

 

Harrison-Thompson Bursary Trust

Award: $1,000, Deadline: December 1

Applicant must be an undergraduate student in one of the following fields of study: applied health science; business; humanities; mathematics; science; social science. Applicant must demonstrate academic excellence and financial need, and meet Ontario residency requirements.

 

Ontario Student Opportunity Trust Fund Parent Bursary

Award: $450, Deadline: December 1

Applicant must be a returning student majoring in applied health science, business, health science, mathematics, science or social science, who demonstrates satisfactory academic standing and financial need, and meets Ontario residency requirements.

 

Bob and Valerie Valaas Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior of Wenatchee or Westside High School who plans to enter the health science program at Wenatchee Valley College. Minimum 2.5 GPA and financial need required.

 

AvaCare Mdical Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: December 15

Applicants must be at least 13 years of age, have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be a U.S. citizen. Students must be studying or planning on studying a medicine related field. Students must be at least a high school senior. AvaCare Medical offers an annual scholarship for an inspiring act of kindness. Selection is based on judge scores as well as public votes. Submission may be in the form of a blog post, an image or a short video clip. Finalists are selected based on content, creativity and quality of work.

 

Cables and Sensors Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: November 15

Applicants should be currently enrolled in degree programs in the fields of Biomedical Engineering, Health Sciences, Pharmaceutical and Healthcare. Students must be a legal residents of the U.S. or hold a valid student visa.

 

Bill Bendiner and Doug Morgenson Scholarship

Award: $3,250, Deadline: January 13

Applicants must be residents of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon or Washington and be high school seniors or college or graduate students (community college, four-year public or private college or university, certificate program, vocational/technical/trade programs, law school, medical/dental/veterinary school or graduate education). Students must be members of the LGBTQ and allied community and display leadership either within the LGBTQ community or within their field of study and demonstrate financial need. Students with additional barriers to education as well as those who are economically, racially, socially, geographically or politically disenfranchised will be given consideration as well. Applicants must be pursuing a career in human services, health sciences, or visual arts.

College of Health Sciences Academic Scholarship

Applicants must be incoming freshmen, transfer students or currently enrolled students at Alabama State University in the College of Health Sciences.
