Charlotte W. Newcombe Dissertation Fellowship

Award: $25,000, Deadline: November 12

Applicants must have completed all pre-dissertation requirements. The dissertation can be in any field and must deal with the study of ethical or religious values in some area of human endeavor. Applicants working on D. Min., law, and other professional degrees are not eligible.

 

Elon College Fellows Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: January 10

Applicant must complete essay and interview if selected. Selection is based upon SAT Reasoning or ACT scores, GPA, and high school curriculum.

 

Frederick Burkhardt Residential Fellowship for Recently Tenured Students

Award: $75,000, Deadline: October 2

Applicant must be a U.S. or Canadian citizen or permanent resident. Award is intended to support an academic year of residence at any national residential research centers. Program encourages exchanges across disciplinary lines that can be especially helpful to deepening and expanding the significance of projects in the humanities and related social sciences. Applications must be submitted through the ACLS Online Fellowship Application system (OFA). OFA is accessible through the Fellowship and Grant Programs section of the web site.

 

Central Europe Research Scholar Program

Award: $11,500, Deadline: January 15; October 1

Selection is based upon the research proposal, need for in-country resources, letters of recommendation, and language proficiency. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with advanced knowledge of the host country's language. Research proposal of 1,000 words, an agreement and a release form, a medical evaluation, two letters of recommendation, a curriculum vitae in both English and the language of the host country, and a financial need statement are required to be submitted. Award is for individual research opportunities in the Baltics, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, or Slovakia.

 

Pi Gamma Mu Scholarship

Applicant must be a member of Pi Gamma Mu.

 

Rath Foundation Merit Scholarship

Award: $7,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must have a minimum 3.8 GPA and have tested in top 5% nationally with a minimum composite ACT score of 29.

Applicant must attend the Harpur Coll full time, be a resident of New York, demonstrate academic excellence, and financial need.

 

Sarkisian Brothers Scholarship

Applicant must attend Harpur College full time, be in good academic standing, demonstrate financial need, and be a resident of Broome, Chenango, Delaware, or Tioga counties in N.Y.

Jeanette K. Watson Fellowship

Award: $6,000, Deadline: March 4

Applicant must be a second semester freshman or sophomore at one of the 12 invited colleges with at least four semesters of full-time academic work remaining after the term in which the applicant applies. Applicant must be registered in a liberal arts track, demonstrate competence in college level work, be not more than 25 years old on March 1, 2013, and be an American citizen or 'green card' holder.

 

CLA Student Exchange Program: Dr. Armin Mruck Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: October 15 (minimester/spring); March 15 (summer/fall)

Applicant must be an undergraduate student majoring in a certain field found in the College of Liberal Arts at the University, in addition to pursuing foreign language studies abroad or taking courses in a language other than English. A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 is required.

 

Dr. Glenn G. and Mrs. Wanda M. Bartle Scholarship

Award: $1,700, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a full-time student. Selection is based upon academic merit and financial need.

 

Arts and Science General Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 1 (Priority)

Applicant must be enrolled at the University of Missouri at Columbia.

 

ACOR-CAORC Pre-Doctoral Graduate Fellowship

Award: $19,600, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must pursue research or publication projects in the natural and social sciences, humanities, and associated disciplines relating to the Near East. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.

 

James E. Perdue Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in the College of Arts and Sciences, or be undeclared and have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

 

Patricia Collins Amaral Memorial Fund

Applicant must be a senior who has a minimum 3.0 GPA and who has demonstrated the finest qualities of leadership through participation in campus organizations and has rendered service of significant benefit to the campus community.

 

Alumni Association Scholarship

Applicant must demonstrate community leadership and have met the award criteria established by the Alumni Association's Scholarship Committee. Applicant must have completed 12 credits last semester and 24 credits at Bridgewater State College as of December 31. Applicants who have transferred from Massachusetts Community Colleges, Dean College, or Quincy College are eligible to apply.

 

Louis Pyenson Memorial Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, 30 credits, and high grades in two semesters of biology.

 

Achievement Scholarship for Business, Liberal Arts, and Hospitality Management

Award: $9,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must have a minimum combined SAT score of 1800 (minimum ACT score of 26) and a "B+" average. Applicant must be enrolled in either a business, liberal arts, or hospitality management program and be able to demonstrate outstanding leadership, service, entrepreneurship, or citizenship. Selection will be based upon activities, recommendations, and academic record.

 

Jackman Education Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 16

Applicant must be a graduating senior from a Henry County high school who will attend an accredited four-year program in liberal arts.

 

Byron Youtz Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,428, Deadline: February 3

Applicant must be a full-time junior or senior at Evergreen State College majoring in the arts, humanities, or natural sciences.

 

ISF National Scholarship Program

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 21

Applicants must be accepted by or attend a top-ranked four-year college or university for undergraduate or graduate studies. They must be practicing Muslims and U.S. citizens or permanent residents. They must have college junior standing or higher and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0. Applicants should be active members of their communities. Selection is based on academic record, school and extracurricular activities, extenuating circumstances and a personal interview.

 

Dr. Alma S. Adams Scholarship for Outreach and Health Communications to Reduce Tobacco Use Among Priority Populations

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 30

Applicants must be pursuing coursework in public health, communications, social work, education, liberal arts or a related field. A minimum 2.0 GPA is required and students must be U.S. citizens. Applicants should display a commitment to community service and reducing tobacco usage in priority populations.
