Applicant must be a transfer student with a minimum 3.25 GPA. Selection will be based upon applicant's academic record, GPA, SAT Reasoning/ACT scores, TOEFL scores (for international students), essay, and a history of participation and leadership in extracurricular activities and community service. NCAA Division III regulations prohibit the consideration of high school athletic ability, athletic participation, athletic leadership or athletic performance in awarding scholarships.

Official transcript demonstrating potential for successful completion of the educational requirements in an accredited journalism program and 500-word essay demonstrating an understanding of the principles of voluntary unionism and the economic and social problems of compulsory unionism are required.
