Applicant must be a U.S. citizen. Selection based on academic performance and financial need.

 

Lindbergh Grant

Award: $10,580, Deadline: June 14

Applicant must use grant to fund projects that demonstrate a balance between innovative technological advancements and preservation of the environment.

 

Dutch and Ginger Arver Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a high school senior or college student who is attending an accredited school in an avionics or aircraft repair program.

 

Full-time Employee Scholarship

Award: $600, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and a full-time aviation career employee. Part-time study must be directed toward enhancing job skills.

 

Aviation Scholarship Program

Award: $3,000, Deadline: July 8

Applicant must be a resident of Pennsylvania who is interested in an aviation career. Applicants for the Professional Pilot category must hold a student pilot certificate and be able to show proof that they have soloed.

 

Pioneers of Flight Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: Last Friday in December

Applicant must be a college student in their sophomore or junior year who is enrolled as a full-time student in an aviation degree program at an accredited four-year college or university. Applicant must be able to demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in general aviation. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

ADMA Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: March 28

Applicant must be a junior or senior attending a four-year school or a sophomore attending a two-year school. Two letters of recommendation and 500-word essay describing desire to pursue a career in the aviation field are required.

 

MAPA Safety Foundation Scholarship

Award: -, Deadline: August 15

Applicant must be sponsored by a MAPA member and have a minimum 3.0 GPA (if applicant does not know a MAPA member, the organization will find one to sponsor them). Essay, transcripts, and two letters of recommendation required.

 

McDonnell-Douglas MD500 Turbine Transition

Applicant must be a woman, demonstrate financial need, desire a career as a helicopter pilot, and be in good standing as a Whirly-Girl.

 

Doris Mullen Memorial Scholarship

Award: $4,500, Deadline: November 15

Applicant must be a woman, demonstrate financial need, and be a member in good standing of the Whirly-Girls. Award is to receive an advanced certificate, rating, or specialized training.

 

Bell Helicopter Whirly-Girls Scholarship

Applicant must be a woman, demonstrate financial need, and be a member in good standing of the Whirly-Girls. Award is to obtain Bell 206BIII Turbine training at the Customer Training Academy in Fort Worth, Tex.

 

Whirly-Girls Flight Training Scholarship

Award: $4,500, Deadline: October 31

Applicant must be a woman, demonstrate financial need, and possess a current airplane, glider, or balloon rating, and a current medical. Award is to obtain an additional Rotorcraft Helicopter Rating.

 

Pritchard Corporate Air Service Inc. Lend a Hand Scholarship

Award: -, Deadline: November 15

Applicant must be a woman, demonstrate financial need, and hold a pilot's license. Award is to obtain a Commercial Rotorcraft Helicopter Additional Rating and Certified Flight Instructor Rating. There is one year allotted to receive training and certificates, followed by six months employment as a Flight Instructor for Pritchard Air Service. Recipient must relocate to Navato, Calif., for the 18-month period.

 

Flight Safety International Instrument Refresher Course Scholarship

Applicant must be a Whirly-Girl in good standing and possess an Instrument Rating Helicopter to apply. Course consists of 12 hours of academic training, six hours of simulator instruction and will be conducted at the Flight Safety Learning Center in Hurst, Texas.

 

DFW PAMA Scholarship Fund

Award: -, Deadline: April 20

Applicant must have selected a career in aviation maintenance, be enrolled with a minimum "B" grade average in a FAR Part 147-certified program leading to an airframe/powerplant license, and submit copy of grades and letter of reference. Selection is based upon academic performance, work experience, school/community involvement, career commitment and potential, financial need, and letter of reference.

 

Joshua Esch Mitchell Aviation Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 1

Selection is based upon academic achievement, extracurricular activities, financial need, personal statement, and one letter of recommendation from an aviation professional.

 

Patricia Collins Amaral Memorial Fund

Award: $600, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a senior who has a minimum 3.0 GPA and who has demonstrated the finest qualities of leadership through participation in campus organizations and has rendered service of significant benefit to the campus community.

 

Lt. Edward 'Ted' Hoyle III Scholarship Fund

Award: $900, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be making outstanding progress toward an undergraduate degree. Preference is given to an aviation major.

 

Alumni Association Scholarship

Applicant must demonstrate community leadership and have met the award criteria established by the Alumni Association's Scholarship Committee. Applicant must have completed 12 credits last semester and 24 credits at Bridgewater State College as of December 31. Applicants who have transferred from Massachusetts Community Colleges, Dean College, or Quincy College are eligible to apply.

 

Living and Learning Scholarship

Award: $4,500, Deadline: May 31

Selection is based upon GPA, class rank, and SAT or ACT scores.

 

Ormond M. Grove Memorial Endowed Aeronautics Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 31

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, be enrolled in a Dowling College flight laboratory course, and hold an F.A.A. Private Pilot license.

 

Sport's Pilot Shop Aviation Explorer Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be an Aviation Explorer who plans to enroll in an aviation curriculum at any university or school. Three letters of recommendation, a short essay and a photograph are required. Application must be approved by applicant's local Learning for Life office for consideration.

 

EAA Chapter 1354 Aviation Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior from a Johnson County high school who will pursue a full-time associate or baccalaureate course of study at Purdue University - School of Aviation, Vincennes University, Indiana State University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University or University of Illinois and planning a career as a commercial pilot, transport pilot, airport administration or aeronautical engineering.

 

Blair Parsley Memorial Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior from a Johnson County high school who will study aviation at an accredited college or university in Indiana. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

Richard L. Taylor Flight Training Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 27

Applicant must be enrolled in a flight program at an accredited college/university and have a private pilot's license. Minimum 3.0 GPA and essay required.

 

Schedulers & Dispatchers Monetary Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: September 26

Applicant must be at least 18 years old and currently working in the field of aviation. Essay, resume, and two letters of recommendation required.
