Scholarships in College Junior

Benjamin C. Blackburn Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: April 2

Applicants must be New Jersey residents. They must be enrolled in the Landscape and Horticultural Technology Program at County College of Morris and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. If awarded the scholarship, the recipient will be expected to to give a 10-minute speech on his or her horticultural interests and goals at the Arboretum's annual meeting. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

St. Louis Christian College Access Missouri Financial Assistance Program

Award: $2,850, Deadline: April 1

This need based program assists high school students with college costs. To be eligible applicants must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and a Missouri resident; must have filed the FAFSA by April 1; must be a current undergraduate student enrolled full time and have an EFC of $12,000 or less.

 

Thaddeus Colson and Isabelle Saalwaechter Fitzpatrick Memorial Scholarship

Award: $4,500, Deadline: March 15

Applicants must be female Kentucky residents who are attending a public college or university in Kentucky. They must be full-time undergraduate students who are rising sophomores, juniors or seniors and be majoring in a subject that is related to the environment (such as agriculture, horticulture, environmental engineering, biology or environmental studies). They must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

St. Louis College of Pharmacy Access Missouri Financial Assistance Program

This need based program assists high school students with college costs. To be eligible applicants must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and a Missouri resident; must have filed the FAFSA by April 1; must be a current undergraduate student enrolled full time and have an EFC of $12,000 or less.

 

Herman J. Smith Scholarship

Applicants must be full-time undergraduate or graduate students attending an accredited four-year institution. They must have at least one more year of study to complete after the date of award disbursement; fifth-year seniors are ineligible for this award. They must be majoring in and planning to pursue a career in mortgage finance, construction management or another construction-related subject. Preference is given to Texas residents, students who attend school in Texas and current members of their school's National Association of Home Builders student chapter. Selection is based on academic merit, recommendations, work experience, extracurricular activities, career goals and financial need.

Pulte Group Build Your Future Scholarship Program

Applicants must be U.S. undergraduate freshmen, sophomores or juniors who are enrolled full-time in a housing-related degree program (construction, civil engineering, architecture, building trades or management, etc.). They must have at least one full academic year remaining in their course of study and maintain an overall GPA of at least 2.5 and major GPA of at least 3.0. Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate financial need or who are members of a building industry-related service or professional organization, especially the National Association of Home Builders. Selection is based on financial need, academic achievement, GPA, work experience, extracurricular activities and professional goals.

 

CHAHRM Scholarship

Applicants must be in the final year of study for a degree in a healthcare- or human resources-related subject at an accredited technical college or university. They must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Selection is based on academic merit, stated career goals, work history, extracurricular activities and references.

Applicants must be matriculated students attending an accredited college or university located in Connecticut; matriculated students attending a non-Connecticut school who are also the spouse or child of an HFMA Connecticut Chapter member; matriculated students who are Connecticut residents and who commute to an accredited school that is located in an HFMA Region 1 state or matriculated students who are permanent healthcare industry employees working in the state of Connecticut. They must be studying or planning to study financial management or a healthcare subject. Selection is based on the strength of the applicant's essay.

 

Lewis C. Hoffman Scholarship

Applicants must be full-time undergraduates who will have completed 70 or more semester credits (or quarter credit equivalent) at the time of award disbursement. Selection is based on essay response, GPA, recommendation letter, extracurricular involvements and standardized test scores (if available).

 

Dr. Robert W. Sims Memorial Scholarship

Applicants must be U.S. citizens and residents of Florida. They must be enrolled in or plan to enroll in a postsecondary degree program in computer science, information technology or a related subject at an accredited school in Florida. They must be full-time students and must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

Dr. William S. Boyd Scholarship

Applicants must be Louisiana residents who are juniors or seniors at a CCE-accredited chiropractic college located in Louisiana. They must have a GPA of 2.75 or higher and must intend to work in Louisiana after graduation. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

Engineers Foundation of Ohio General Fund Scholarship

Applicants must be U.S. citizens and residents of Ohio. They must be rising juniors or seniors enrolled full-time in an ABET-accredited engineering program that leads to the bachelor of science or its equivalent. They must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4-point scale. Selection is based on academic achievement, extracurricular involvements and financial need.

 

E.H. Marth Food and Environmental Scholarship

Applicants must be Wisconsin residents who are enrolled at or have been accepted into a postsecondary institution that is either located in the state of Wisconsin or that has a reciprocal enrollment agreement with Wisconsin. They must be or plan to be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate academic program that is related to food science, environmental sanitation or dairy science. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

University Scholarship and Research Grant

Applicants must be high school seniors or undergraduate or graduate students who are Michigan residents and U.S. citizens with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Students must enroll in a degree program in information systems, business applications, computer science, computer engineering, software engineering or information security.

 

Laptop/Printer Grant

Applicants must be Michigan residents who are pursuing degrees in information systems, computer science, computer engineering, software engineering or information security and need a laptop to achieve their goals. Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Selection criteria include GPA, essay, technology-related activities, letters of recommendation, community service and completeness of application.

 

Theodore Gordon Flyfishers Inc. Founders Fund Scholarship

Award: $3,500, Deadline: April 1

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, undergraduate students with senior standing enrolled full-time or graduate students enrolled full-time. Students must major in an area of environmental studies such as, but not limited to, ecology, hydrology, conservation biology, natural resource management, zoology or environmental law and policy. A list of member institutions is online. Applicants must have a 3.5 GPA in environmental conservation coursework and a minimum 3.0 overall.

 

Future Engineers Scholarship

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, resident aliens or U.S. nationals. They must be full-time undergraduate students who are enrolled in or who have been accepted into the school of engineering at their postsecondary institution. Students must have sophomore, junior or senior standing and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a four-point scale. Selection is based on academic achievement and professional commitment to the field of engineering.

 

Garden Club of Ohio Inc. Scholarships

Applicants must be residents of Ohio and must be enrolled in a postsecondary degree program related to environmental science, plant science, horticulture, floriculture, city planning or wildlife.
