Applicants must be New Jersey residents. They must be enrolled in the Landscape and Horticultural Technology Program at County College of Morris and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. If awarded the scholarship, the recipient will be expected to to give a 10-minute speech on his or her horticultural interests and goals at the Arboretum's annual meeting. Preference is given to Texas residents, students who attend school in Texas and current members of their school's National Association of Home Builders student chapter. Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate financial need or who are members of a building industry-related service or professional organization, especially the National Association of Home Builders.
