Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Applicant must be a second year student in a master's program in social work, and demonstrate interest in the psychosocial needs of oncology patients and their families. Advanced standing students (those with a bachelor's degree in social work accepted to a master's degree program) are also eligible.

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident who is enrolled or enrolling in a full-time masters degree program in social work or other mental health fields at an accredited university in the MD/D.C. region, is fluent in english and another language, and will work full-time as a bilingual specialist in a mental health field in Maryland for each year funded. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

Applicants must be at least 13 years of age, have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be a U.S. citizen. Students must be studying or planning on studying a medicine related field. Students must be at least a high school senior. AvaCare Medical offers an annual scholarship for an inspiring act of kindness. Selection is based on judge scores as well as public votes. Submission may be in the form of a blog post, an image or a short video clip. Finalists are selected based on content, creativity and quality of work.
