Scholarships in Healthcare Administration

Richard L. Davis National Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: June 1

Applicant must submit a letter stating career goals and objectives, a resume showing employment history with a brief narrative describing specific employment responsibilities in the health care field, and three letters of recommendation. Reference letters should address performance, character, potential to succeed, and need for scholarship support. Send for an application with a self-addressed, stamped, business-size envelope.

 

Patricia Collins Amaral Memorial Fund

Award: $600, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a senior who has a minimum 3.0 GPA and who has demonstrated the finest qualities of leadership through participation in campus organizations and has rendered service of significant benefit to the campus community.

 

Alumni Association Scholarship

Award: -, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must demonstrate community leadership and have met the award criteria established by the Alumni Association's Scholarship Committee. Applicant must have completed 12 credits last semester and 24 credits at Bridgewater State College as of December 31. Applicants who have transferred from Massachusetts Community Colleges, Dean College, or Quincy College are eligible to apply.

 

Special Undergraduate Academic Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and a minimum combined SAT I score of 1500 (composite ACT score of 21).

 

Triangle Scholarship Program

Award: $2,500, Deadline: March 10

Applicant must fit into one of the following categories and criteria: (a) graduating high school senior who: plans to enroll as freshmen at any of North Carolina's post-secondary educational or technical institutions and has a minimum 2.5 GPA; (b) a working single mother who: is actively working in the Research Triangle Area, has a high school diploma or a GED by June, and currently attends or plans to enroll at any of North Carolina's post-secondary educational or technical institutions; (c) a health care profession student who: has a high school diploma or a GED by June and currently attends or plans to enroll at any North Carolina community college to pursue a certificate, diploma or associate's degree in the health care professions.

 

Gibson-Mensah Endowed Scholarship

Applicant must have completed a minimum of nine graduate credit hours at UMUC and must have demonstrated financial need

Cora Aguda Manayan Fund

Applicant must be majoring in a health-related field and be of Filipino ancestry. Preference may be given to applicants studying in Hawaii.

 

Rich Meiers Health Administration Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be a college junior, senior or graduate student majoring in health care, hospital or longer-term care administration at a college or university in Hawaii. Minimum 2.7 cumulative GPA required.

 

Robert P. Atkinson Hospital Leadership Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a resident of Arkansas pursuing an advanced degree in healthcare or hospital administration at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

 

Sharps Compliance Scholarship Essay Contest

Award: $1,500, Deadline: July 18

Applicant must be a U.S. or Canadian citizen accepted or currently enrolled at an accredited university pursuing a degree in healthcare. Essay between 1,250 and 1,500 words required on this topic: "The Importance of Proper Waste Segregation in Healthcare".

 

Volunteer Resources Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: September 12

Applicant must be a high school senior or undergraduate student who is an active member of the FHN Volunteer Program and is pursuing a degree in a healthcare field. Minimum 3.0 GPA, minimum 40 volunteer hours in the FHN program, and one-page essay required on this topic: "How has your volunteer experience at FHN contributed to your personal career goals?" Finalists required to participate in interview.
