Jewell L. Taylor National Undergraduate Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: January 9

Applicant must be an undergraduate student pursuing a degree in family and consumer sciences.

 

Wiley-Berger Award for Volunteer Service

Award: $2,500, Deadline: January 9

Applicant must be an AAFCS member with an outstanding record of volunteer service. Nomination is required.

 

Director's Award

Award: $8,000, Deadline: None

Applicant must meet two of the following: have a minimum 3.0 GPA, rank in the top half of graduating school class, and/or a minimum composite ACT score of 21.

 

Trustee Grant

Award: $18,000, Deadline: March 15 (priority)

Applicant must be a full-time matriculated undergraduate student entering a private college program. Must be a U.S. citizen and demonstrate financial need.

 

Ceramic Grant

Award: $13,000, Deadline: March 1 (priority)

Applicant must be a full-time matriculated undergraduate student who is entering a State-supported program. Must be a U.S. citizen and demonstrate financial need.

 

Housing Grant

Award: $2,500, Deadline: March 15 (priority)

Applicant must reside in a university-owned or operated facility.

 

AIB Transfer Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: None

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Scholarship may also be awarded based on applicant's artistic portfolio.

 

NEEBC Scholarship Award

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a full- or part-time undergraduate or graduate student who is considering a career in a benefits-related area such as: health care program design, pension plan design, implementation or administration, retirement strategies, ERISA and legal aspects of employee benefits, work/life programs, health risk management, institutional investing of retirement savings, multi-employer plans, workers compensation, actuarial and underwriting analysis, or employee benefits communications. Selection will be based upon specific employee benefit related study, activities, and goals, school and community activities, work experience, future potential, and academic performance. Application, transcript, and two recommendations are required to be submitted.

 

President's Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: Early April

Applicant must be enrolled at the University of Michigan for at least two semesters with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applicant have graduated from a Downriver high school.

 

ISF Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 21

Applicant must be Muslim or an active member of the Muslim community who is enrolled at an accredited university as an undergraduate (sophomore, junior, or senior) or graduate student (including Ph.D.) in the United States who is majoring in one of the sponsor's supported majors as found on their website. Minimum 3.0 GPA and United States citizenship/permanent residence required.

 

Common Knowledge Scholarships

Award: $2,500, Deadline: Monthly

Foundation offers award scholarships through the use of Internet-based quiz competitions with topics that range from common knowledge to specific academic subjects.

 

CU Succeed Scholarship

Award: $8,000, Deadline: May 16

Applicant must be an Arizona Central Credit Union member with a minimum 3.0 GPA who has been accepted to, and is planning to attend an accredited college, university, community college or trade school located in Arizona as a full-time student.

 

Top Ten List Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: December 31

Applicant must be a United States citizen or permanent resident who is a student 13 years of age or older, and is currently enrolled (or planning to enroll) at an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education. Online short written response to the topic, "Create a Top Ten List of the reasons you should get this scholarship" is required.

 

Do-Over Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: June 30

Applicant must be a United States citizen or permanent resident who is a student 13 years of age or older, and is currently enrolled (or planning to enroll) at an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education. Online short written response to the question, "If you could get one 'do over' in life what would it be and why" is required.

 

HSF/General College Scholarship Program

Award: $10,000, Deadline: December 15

Applicant must be a United States citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 who is of Hispanic heritage. Applicant must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and plan to enroll as a full-time student in a degree seeking program at a two- or four-year accredited institution in the United States, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, or Guam during the upcoming academic year. FAFSA is required. Program will begin as of fall 2009.

 

HSF/Atrisco Heritage Foundation Scholarship Program

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 28

Applicant must be a United States citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 who is of Hispanic heritage and is an heir of the Atrisco Land Grant. Applicant must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale and plan to enroll as a full-time student in a degree seeking program at a two- or four-year accredited institution in the United States, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, or Guam during the upcoming academic year. FAFSA is required. Program will be open as of fall 2009.

 

HSF/Cien Anos Scholarship Program

Applicant must be a United States citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 who is of Hispanic heritage and at least 21 years of age by April 15. Applicant must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and plan to enroll as a full-time student in a degree seeking program at a two- or four-year accredited institution in the United States, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, or Guam during the upcoming academic year. FAFSA is required.

 

HSF/HSBC-North America Scholarship Program

Award: $2,500, Deadline: January 31

Applicant must be a United States citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 who is of Hispanic heritage and enrolled as a full-time student in a degree-seeking program at an accredited college or university in the United States, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, or Guam with a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Applicant must be a current undergraduate sophomore or a current community college student who is planning on transferring to a four-year college or university; thus having junior status in the upcoming academic school year. HSF/McNamara Family Creative Arts Project Grant

Applicant must be a United States citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 who is of Hispanic heritage. Applicant must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in a degree-seeking program at an accredited college or university in the United Stats, Puerto Rico, or U.S. Virgin Islands majoring in the arts, including but not limited to media, film, performing arts, communications, or writing. Program will begin as of fall 2009.

 

HSF/Wal-Mart Stores College Scholarship Program

Applicant must be a United States citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 who is of Hispanic heritage and is a sophomore, junior, senior, or first, or second year Master's student enrolled full-time with a minimum 3.0 GPA in a degree-seeking program at an accredited college or university in the United States, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, or Guam. HSF/Nissan Community College Transfer Scholarship

Applicant must be a United States citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 who is of Hispanic heritage. Applicant must be currently enrolled at a community college with a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and have plans to transfer and enroll as a full-time student pursuing a degree in business, engineering, communications, or media arts at a four-year accredited institution. HSF/MassMutual Multicultural College Scholarship

Applicant must be a United States citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 who is of African-American, Asian/Pacific Islander American, or Hispanic heritage. Applicant must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and plan to enroll as a full-time student pursuing a degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, marketing, mathematics, or statistics at a four-year accredited institution in the United States, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, or Guam during the upcoming academic year. ASTA Arizona Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or Canada who is a full-time or part-time undergraduate student, enrolled in a travel-and-tourism-related program of study at an accredited two- or four- year college or university in Arizona, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a U.S. 4.0 scale). Applicants enrolled at an accredited two-year college, entering the second year in the fall of the calendar year of application, will have completed a minimum of 30 credit hours by the end of this semester or term. Applicants enrolled at an accredited four-year college or university, entering junior or senior year, will have completed a minimum of 60 or 90 credit hours (respectively) by the end of this semester or term. ASTA Northern California Chapter - Richard Epping Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a permanent resident of California, who is a full-time or part-time undergraduate student enrolled in a travel-and-tourism- or hospitality-related program of study at an accredited two- or four-year college or university in California with a minimum 3.0 grade point average. Applicants from two-year schools will be entering second year in the fall of the calendar year of application, and will have completed a minimum of 30 credit hours by the end of this semester or term. Applicants from four-year schools will be entering junior year in the fall of the calendar year of application, and will have completed a minimum of 60 credit hours by the end of this semester or term; or will be entering senior year in the fall of the calendar year of application and will have completed a minimum of 90 credit hours by the end of this semester or term. ASTA David J. Hallissey Memorial Internship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a citizen or permanent resident of any country, who is a full-time or part-time undergraduate, or full-time or part-time graduate student, pursuing a marketing degree with an interest in marketing research and also an interest in travel and tourism (preferred but not required); or a travel and tourism degree with an interest in marketing research as it relates to marketing (preferred but not required) at a college or university in the United States with a minimum 3.0 grade point average. Applicant will be enrolled at an accredited four-year college or university, and will be entering sophomore year in the fall of the calendar year of application; or enrolled at an accredited four-year college or university, and will be entering junior year in the fall of the calendar year of application; or enrolled at an accredited four-year college or university, and will be entering senior year in the fall of the calendar year of application; or enrolled at an accredited four-year college or university, and entering any year of graduate study in the fall of the calendar year of application. Please note this internship is for summer or fall and takes place in the Washington, DC area. Applicant should have strong written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills and a basic understanding of Microsoft Excel (required); and knowledge of Microsoft Access and SBSS software (preferred but not required).
