Preference is given to an applicant majoring in liberal arts, fine arts, or social work, and to Texas residents.

 

Dedman Distinguished Scholars Award

Award: $7,000, Deadline: December 1

Applicant must rank in the top 5% of class and be enrolled in the Coll of Liberal Arts.

 

Charlotte W. Newcombe Dissertation Fellowship

Award: $25,000, Deadline: November 12

Applicants must have completed all pre-dissertation requirements. The dissertation can be in any field and must deal with the study of ethical or religious values in some area of human endeavor. Applicants working on D. Min., law, and other professional degrees are not eligible.

 

William Fairburn, Jr. and Cynthia Fairburn Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: January 29

Applicant must be a graduate of a Ventura County high school, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and demonstrate an interest or involvement in sciences, liberal arts, and humanities.

 

Woodrow Wilson Dissertation Fellowship in Women's Studies

Award: $5,000, Deadline: October 15

Applicant must be writing a dissertation on a topic concerning women or on women's/children's health.

 

Patti Johnson Wilson Foundation Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must have a minimum 3.5 GPA, work part-time (at least 10 hours per week), and submit recommendations. Financial need is considered.

 

Sophia Kampher Scholarship

Applicant must be a female graduate of a Montana high school. Preference is given to liberal arts majors.

 

Academic Year Internship

Applicant must have completed at least two years of college. Summer interns receive a small stipend for the nine week program (pending funding from the museum). Internships are available in many departments.

 

Sam Hochberg Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be recommended by principal or guidance counselor and enroll as a full-time student. Selection is based upon academic potential.

 

Girl Scout Gold Scholarship

Applicant must be a woman and a recipient of the Girl Scout Gold Award, demonstrate financial need, and be accepted for undergraduate study in the College of Arts and Sciences or Case School of Engineering.

 

Russell Caldwell Neighborhood Scholarship

Applicant must be nominated by their high school principal or college counselor and rank in the top of graduating class from one of the following Los Angeles high schools: Belmont, Crenshaw, Dorsey, Fremont, Huntington Park, Jefferson, Los Angeles, Manual Arts, Roosevelt. Priority is given to students majoring in the liberal arts.

 

Lorena and Wood Patrick Scholarship

Applicant must have a minimum 3.25 GPA and have completed 60 semester hours.

ACLS/New York Public Library Fellowship

Applicant must identify specific resources and benefits to be gained from affiliation with the Center for Scholars and Writers. Applicant must be selected by both ACLS Committee and the New York Public Library. Applications must be submitted through the ACLS Online Fellowship Application system (OFA). OFA is accessible through the Fellowship and Grant Programs section of the web site. Applicant must apply separately to the Cullman Center at the New York Public Library (csw@nypl.org).

 

Jeanette K. Watson Fellowship

Applicant must be a second semester freshman or sophomore at one of the 12 invited colleges with at least four semesters of full-time academic work remaining after the term in which the applicant applies. Applicant must be registered in a liberal arts track, demonstrate competence in college level work, be not more than 25 years old on March 1, 2013, and be an American citizen or 'green card' holder.

Applicant must be a senior who has a minimum 3.0 GPA and who has demonstrated the finest qualities of leadership through participation in campus organizations and has rendered service of significant benefit to the campus community.

 

Alumni Association Scholarship

Applicant must demonstrate community leadership and have met the award criteria established by the Alumni Association's Scholarship Committee. Applicant must have completed 12 credits last semester and 24 credits at Bridgewater State College as of December 31. Applicants who have transferred from Massachusetts Community Colleges, Dean College, or Quincy College are eligible to apply.
