Howard Hughes Medical Institute Predoctoral Fellowship in Biological Sciences

Award: $31,000, Deadline: December 14

Applicant must submit GRE scores and be a U.S. citizen. If not a citizen, applicant must attend U.S. educational institution and submit TOEFL scores if English is not primary language. Applicant must have completed less than one year of post-baccalaureate work toward a Ph.D. or Sc.D. following completion of undergraduate or medical degree.

 

ALA Lung Health Research Dissertation Grant

Award: $21,000, Deadline: October 1

Applicant must be matriculating in a full-time doctoral program with an academic career focus. Preference is given to minority applicants and applicants interested in tobacco control research.

 

Clinical Research Professorship

Award: $80,000, Deadline: October 15

Applicants must be beginning investigators or developing clinical researchers at collegiate.

 

Postdoctoral Fellowship

Award: $46,000, Deadline: April 1; October 15

Awarded to support the training of researchers who have just received their doctorate to qualify for an independent career in cancer research.

 

Mentored Research Scholar Grant in Applied and Clinical Research

Award: $135,000, Deadline: April 1; October 15

Awarded to support mentored research by full-time faculty, typically within the first four years of their appointment, with the goal of becoming independent investigators in clinical, cancer control and prevention, epidemiologic, psychosocial, behavioral, health services and health policy research.

 

Research Professorship

Award: $80,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicants should submit in writing, a curriculum vitae and complete bibliography and a cover letter that briefly describes their seminal contributions to science.

 

American Ground Water Trust-Thomas M. Stetson Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: June 1

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident who plans to attend a college or university west of the Mississippi River and be planning for a career in a ground water-related field. Applicant must have completed a science/environmental project which directly involved ground water resources or had an out-of-school work experience relating to the environment and natural resources. Minimum 3.0 GPA, essay, description of ground water project or practical environmental work experience, and two letters of recommendation are required.

 

Patricia Collins Amaral Memorial Fund

Award: $600, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a senior who has a minimum 3.0 GPA and who has demonstrated the finest qualities of leadership through participation in campus organizations and has rendered service of significant benefit to the campus community.

 

Alumni Association Scholarship

Award: -, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must demonstrate community leadership and have met the award criteria established by the Alumni Association's Scholarship Committee. Applicant must have completed 12 credits last semester and 24 credits at Bridgewater State College as of December 31. Applicants who have transferred from Massachusetts Community Colleges, Dean College, or Quincy College are eligible to apply.
