Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student with a minimum 3.2 GPA who is pursuing a degree in a major field of study related to qualifying for full-time employment (in the petroleum, energy, or allied industries). Financial need required.

 

Link Foundation Energy Fellowship

Applicant must be working towards a Ph.D. in an academic institution in the United States or Canada.

 

Robert C. Thomas/Tenneco Gas Scholarship

Phillips Petroleum Scholarship (Energy Management)

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Selection is based upon merit and financial need.

 

Deed Student Research Grants, Internships, Technical Design Projects (TDP), and Educational Scholarship

Award: $8,000, Deadline: February 15; October 15; October 15 (TDP)

Applicant must have been accepted to or currently enrolled in a full-time vocational school or accredited college/university (includes high school seniors through graduate students). Applicant must intend to or is currently major in a field that could lead to a career in the public power industry. Applicant must be sponsored by a DEED member utility; Technical Design Project (TDP) applicants will be assigned to a sponsor. Application and official transcript required. Maximum of 10 awards granted for Research and Internship; 10 awards for Educational Scholars; and at least one award for Technical Design Projects.

 

HSF/Marathon Oil Corporation College Scholarship Program

Award: $10,000, Deadline: November 1

Applicant must be a United States citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 who is of Hispanic American, African American, Asian Pacific Islander American, or American Indian/Alaskan Native heritage and is enrolled as a sophomore or senior college student with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Sophomore applicants must be majoring in engineering (civil, chemical, electrical, geotechnical, mechanical, or petroleum), geology, geophysics, accounting, marketing, global procurement or supply chain management, environmental health and safety, energy management or petroleum land management, or transportation and logistics; senior applicants must be planning to earn a Master's degree in geology or geophysics. Recipient must agree to participate in a possible paid summer internship opportunity with Marathon Oil Corporation. FAFSA is required. Program will begin as of fall 2009.

 

Patricia Collins Amaral Memorial Fund

Award: $600, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a senior who has a minimum 3.0 GPA and who has demonstrated the finest qualities of leadership through participation in campus organizations and has rendered service of significant benefit to the campus community.

 

Alumni Association Scholarship

Applicant must demonstrate community leadership and have met the award criteria established by the Alumni Association's Scholarship Committee. Applicant must have completed 12 credits last semester and 24 credits at Bridgewater State College as of December 31. Applicants who have transferred from Massachusetts Community Colleges, Dean College, or Quincy College are eligible to apply.

IAPMO Scholarship Essay Contest

Applicant must be a high school senior or enrolled in an accredited technical school, community college, trade school, or four-year accredited college/university. Essay between 880 to 1,600 words required on this topic: How is the planet's energy future tired to the innovation and skill of the plumbing and mechanical industry?
