Hopi Supplemental Grant

Award: $1,500, Deadline: July 31 (fall); November 30 (spring); April 30 (summer)

Applicant must be an enrolled member of the Hopi Tribe. Entering freshman applicant must have a minimum 2.0 GPA or a minimum GED score of 45%. Continuing student applicant must have a minimum 2.0 GPA. Financial need is considered.

 

Education Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 1 (Priority)

Applicant must be enrolled at the University of Missouri at Columbia.

Emilie Hesemeyer Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: June 13

Applicant must be a full-time American Indian and Alaskan Native applicant. Preference is given to applicants pursuing a major in education.

 

Class of 1953 Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 13

Applicant must demonstrate promise and commitment to the field of education and have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

 

Father Robert E. Hall Memorial Scholarship

Award: $550, Deadline: February 13

Applicant must demonstrate commitment to community service and volunteer work and have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

 

Mary E. Laing Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: February 13

Applicant must have a minimum 3.6 GPA and be able to demonstrate high personal character and leadership.

 

R. Lee Martin Award

Award: $1,022, Deadline: February 13

Applicant must have a minimum 3.5 GPA and submit an essay discussing the importance of teachers.

 

Dorothy and Arthur Eichinger Memorial Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: April 15

Applicant must demonstrate commitment to children, volunteer spirit, character and an enthusiasm for teaching and learning. Three references, minimum 3.3 GPA, and essay required.

 

Dr. Barbara Irvine Shineman Scholarship

Theodore R. Campbell Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: June 1

Applicants must be Alberta residents and have completed the first year of an education degree (university transfer) at Blue Quills First Nations College.

 

Anna and John Kolesar Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,200, Deadline: July 1

Applicant must be a resident of Alberta and plan to enroll full-time in the first year of a program in a Faculty of Education. Applicants must be from a family where neither parent obtained a university degree.

Applicant must major in education, a U.S. citizen, and a full-time student in an accredited college in the United States.

 

GTE Foundation Grant

Applicant must be a full or part-time undergraduate or graduate student pursuing initial teacher certification in early elementary, middle, or high school mathematics or science education.

Gene S. Clontz Education Scholarship

Class of 1949 Scholarship for Incoming Freshman Education Major

Applicant must rank in the top two-fifths of class and have a minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1000 (combined ACT score of 22).

Applicant must be an incoming freshman student who is majoring in education. Recipient must agree to attend the spring Bloomsburg University scholarship luncheon and reception with the donor.

 

Stanley C. and Veda M. Stewart Scholarship

Appliacnt must be an incoming freshman student who will be majoring in education. Applicant must be a graduate of Bloomsburg Area Joint School District, Millville Area School District, or Southern Area School District.

 

Louise S. and John W. Thomas Scholarship

Award: $1,250, Deadline: February 16 (FAFSA deadline); March 1 (nomination form)

Applicant must be an incoming full-time freshman student who plans to major in education and can demonstrate financial need, but is ineligible for Pell or PHEAA grants.

 

Patricia Collins Amaral Memorial Fund

Award: $600, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a senior who has a minimum 3.0 GPA and who has demonstrated the finest qualities of leadership through participation in campus organizations and has rendered service of significant benefit to the campus community.

 

Alumni Association Scholarship

Applicant must demonstrate community leadership and have met the award criteria established by the Alumni Association's Scholarship Committee. Applicant must have completed 12 credits last semester and 24 credits at Bridgewater State College as of December 31. Applicants who have transferred from Massachusetts Community Colleges, Dean College, or Quincy College are eligible to apply.

William J. Condon Xi Chi Chapter Kappa Delta Pi Recognition Award

Applicant must be an active Xi Chi Chapter member, and must have a minimum of 90 credits, 30 of which must be from Dowling College, and a minimum 3.7 GPA. Applicant must demonstrate completion of scholarly publications and/or leadership in providing meaningful programs which address relevant educational issues.
