Scholarships in Pre-law

Roy A. Gustafson Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: January 11

Applicant must be a Ventura County resident who graduated from a public or private high school in Ventura County and who has successfully completed the first year of law school at an accredited college or university in the state of California.

 

Alma Wilson Scholarship

Award: $800, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, an Arizona resident, an Arizona high school graduate, and a full-time student and must demonstrate high academic achievement and leadership ability.

 

Health Research Training Program

Award: -, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a New York City resident who is attending a metropolitan New York City school. The program offers internships in public health research, community outreach and education, fieldwork, laboratory work and administration to all college undergraduates, graduate, and professional school students.

 

Keith Webb Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a student in the School of Law Enforcement and Justice Administration or be minoring in pre-law. Minimum 3.2 GPA and demonstration of strong potential for career in law or law enforcement and justice administration required.

 

William E. Adams Memorial Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: February 14

Applicant must be a full-time student at Eastern Illinois University minoring in pre-law (or majoring if History, if pre-law is not an option). Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Joel Zweibel Pre-Law Honors Scholarship

Applicant must be an honors student in the Zicklin School of Business with a minimum 3.5 GPA. Applicant should be active in community service and indicate that he/she plans to attend law school after graduating.

Patricia Collins Amaral Memorial Fund

Award: $600, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a senior who has a minimum 3.0 GPA and who has demonstrated the finest qualities of leadership through participation in campus organizations and has rendered service of significant benefit to the campus community.

 

Alumni Association Scholarship

Award: -, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must demonstrate community leadership and have met the award criteria established by the Alumni Association's Scholarship Committee. Applicant must have completed 12 credits last semester and 24 credits at Bridgewater State College as of December 31. Applicants who have transferred from Massachusetts Community Colleges, Dean College, or Quincy College are eligible to apply.

 

Special Undergraduate Academic Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and a minimum combined SAT I score of 1500 (composite ACT score of 21).

 

George Teall Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, be enrolled as a full-time student, and be able to demonstrate campus and community involvement.

 

David C. Ford Memorial Scholarship Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a resident of Blackford County who is committed to Christian principles and good citizenship and plans to pursue a full-time baccalaureate course of study in math, pre-law, science, or technology at a college or university in Indiana.

 

Schott North America Scholarship

Award: $770, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a high school graduate or graduating high school senior who is the natural, adopted or step-child of an employee of Schott North America, Inc. or Gemtron Corporation in Knox County who is enrolling at an accredited college, university or technical/vocational school to pursue a degree in business, engineering, environment, finance, general studies, law/legal studies, medicine/healthcare, sales/marketing, or science. Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA required.

 

Ronald Dean Estes Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior of a Chelan or Douglas County high school who plans to further their education in biology, natural resources, or pre-law. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Allen E. Grotke Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a current or past graduate of a Johnson County high school who is pursuing a business-related, human resources or legal degree full-time at an accredited college or university. Minimum 2.0 GPA required.

 

D & A Florida Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior from a Charlotte, Glades, Hendry or Lee County high school who will pursue a degree in architecture, business, chemistry, computer science, engineering, international relations, journalism, law, literature, medicine, physics, or political science. Financial need and minimum 3.5 GPA required.

 

Lansing Anderson Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduate of a Phelps County, NE high school who will enroll full-time in an accredited law college.

 

Robert J. Huffman Memorial Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: March 25

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Milton Union High School who will pursue a degree in government or law.

 

Barbara H. Ferrin Endowed Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be an incoming freshman student who will be majoring in English, history, political science, pre-law, or philosophy. Minimum 3.5 GPA and minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1250 (composite ACT score of 28) required.

 

Elba L. and Gene Portteus Branigin Foundation Endowed Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduate of an Indiana high school who will major in accounting, business, economics, political science or pre-law at Franklin College.

 

Elba L. Branigin Law Scholarship

Applicant must be a student at Franklin College who will enroll in law school. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Legal Leaders Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: July 15

Applicant must be a United States citizen who is a high school senior or current full-time undergraduate student who plans to pursue a degree in one of the following areas: pre-law, paralegal studies, or working towards their juris doctorate in any concentration of the law. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Console & Hollawell Paralegal Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: July 15

Applicant must be a student attending a community college, technical school or business school in the United States who is pursuing a degree or certification in paralegal studies, legal assistant, court reporting or other law-related field. Valid transcript reflecting their high school graduation/GED equivalency and proof of acceptance and enrollment in their school or community college required. Gilbert G. Pompa Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 30

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident who has completed 90 credit hours and is pursuing a pre-law program at an accredited university or college in the state of Texas. Minimum 2.75 GPA, one letter of recommendation, resume of community service activities, and full-time enrollment status required. Preference given to female students of hispanic descent.

 

Farzad Family Law Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: December 15

Applicant must be a pre-law or law student who is currently admitted to and attending an undergraduate degree program at an accredited American university or college or are admitted to and attending a state-accredited law school. Essay on the following question is required: Should the right to marry for same sex couples become a federal constitutional right by amendment to the United States Constitution or remain a State issue?

 

Christopher W. Keyser Undergraduate Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: July 31

Applicant must be enrolled in a four-year college or university program in the United States with an interest in the legal or criminal justice fields. Applicant must be actively pursuing a degree in one of the following areas of study: communications, criminal justice, English, history, journalism, political science, or pre-law studies. Essay required.

 

Victoria Ovis Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be a child of a law enforcement officer or firefighter who was killed or permanently disabled in the line of duty. Must be a U.S. citizen, grow up or currently reside in New York, and maintain a 2.7 GPA at a college/university in the U.S. Awards are based on financial need, demonstrated leadership, athletic excellence, and volunteerism. Preference given to those majoring in criminology or pre-law.

 

Legal Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: October 1

Applicant must be a student, at least 18 years old, who is pursuing a degree in the legal field. Minimum 3.0 GPA and essay between 200 and 300 words required on the following topic: "How can you make a positive difference in your community as a future leader in the legal profession?"
