Applicant must be a woman and an SDE/GWIS member, who holds a degree from a recognized institution of higher learning, and is able to show documented evidence of outstanding ability and promise in research.

Applicant must have an educational background in the natural sciences, environmental education, or related field, who is interested and enthusiastic about environmental education. First Aid and CPR certification required.

 

Euna Rae Wilson Balch Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be a woman and a graduate of a public high school in Beckham County, Greer County, Harmon County, Jackson County, Kiowa County, Tillman County, or Washita County, Okla., who plans to enroll in the College of Arts and Sciences.

 

Kenneth and Mildred Ward Scholarship

Applicant must be a West Virginia resident and a graduate of Clay County High School. Selection is based upon academic excellence with preference given to students with financial need who are attending a West Virginia college or university.

 

Alfred C. Knight Scholarship

Applicant must be an outstanding graduate of an Arizona high school.

 

Florence Moog Fellowship

Applicant must be an entering freshman student who plans to pursue an undergraduate major in biochemistry and molecular biology, biology, chemistry, or environmental biology.

 

VSGC Undergraduate Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and Vermont resident and a graduating senior in a Vermont high school or a current undergraduate with a minimum 3.0 GPA enrolled in a degree program in a Vermont institution of higher education. Applicant must plan to attend a Vermont institution of higher education full time for the following academic year and plan to pursue a professional career which has direct relevance to the U.S. aerospace industry and the goals of NASA. Three awards will be given to Burlington Technical College-Aviation Technology Program.

 

McKnight Doctoral Fellowships

Award: $17,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be an African-American or Hispanic student who holds a minimum of a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Awarded to applicants who intend to seek a Ph.D. degree in the disciplines of arts and sciences, mathematics, business, or engineering.

 

Biology Chairs Award

Applicant must be an incoming freshman student with a minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1200 (minimum composite ACT score of 27) who is majoring in biology.

 

Dr. Norman J. and Elsie H. Gillette Outstanding Senior in Biology Award

Award: $585, Deadline: April 15

Awarded to the outstanding senior biology major at the Spring Honors Convocation. Applicant is nominated by the Biology Department.

 

Martin V. Torok Memorial Award

Award: $260, Deadline: February 13

Awarded to the outstanding biology or zoology major at the Spring Honors Convocation.

 

Leonard Howarth Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be an incoming freshman or transfer student who is interested in majoring in biology, chemistry, computer science, geology, mathematics, pre-engineering, or physics.

 

Bruce and Evelyn Davies Otto Fellowship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: January 14

Awarded based on academic record in high school and interview. Applicants must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.

 

Star Scholarship

Applicant must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA. Selection based upon academic record and potential.

 

Georgette Ann Schmitt Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be a returning student with a cumulative 3.0 GPA. Preference is given to biology and physical science majors.

 

Eugene Grant Scholarship

Applicant must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference is given to applicants majoring in biology, chemistry, or other science.

 

David G. Lindquist Scholarship in Biology

Applicant must be an undergraduate or graduate student seeking a marine or biology major.

 

Biology Department Scholarship

Applicant must major in biology with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

 

Division of Natural Science and Mathematics Scholarship

Applicant must have a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 and be in the upper half of their graduating class. Applicant must also provide an essay on major selection.

 

Patricia Collins Amaral Memorial Fund

Applicant must be a senior who has a minimum 3.0 GPA and who has demonstrated the finest qualities of leadership through participation in campus organizations and has rendered service of significant benefit to the campus community.

 

Alumni Association Scholarship

Applicant must demonstrate community leadership and have met the award criteria established by the Alumni Association's Scholarship Committee. Applicant must have completed 12 credits last semester and 24 credits at Bridgewater State College as of December 31. Applicants who have transferred from Massachusetts Community Colleges, Dean College, or Quincy College are eligible to apply.

 

Sanofi Pasteur Honor Scholarship Biology

Applicant must be enrolled in studies in the combined MU/PA College of Osteopathic Medicine Program.
