A.S. Herlong Graduate Fellowship

Applicant must be a graduate student conducting thesis or dissertation research on citrus-related problems in the Departments of Agricultural Engineering, Botany, Entomology and Nematology, Food and Resource Economics, Food Science and Human Nutrition, Horticultural Sciences, Microbiology and Cell Science, Plant Pathology, or Soil and Water Sciences.

 

Leonard A. Starling III Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen, be a graduate of Randolph High School (Charlotte Court House, Va.), and be enrolled full time (at least 12 credit hours per semester). Preference given to applicants enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Entering freshman and transfer applicants should have a minimum combined SAT I score of 1100. Returning student applicant should have a minimum 3.0 Quality Credit Average (QCA). Applicant must submit FAFSA. Selection is based upon academic achievement, extracurricular leadership, and good character.

 

GEM Ph.D. Science Fellowship

U.S. citizens are preferred; permanent residents will also be accepted. Applicant must be an African-American, Native American, or Puerto Rican, Mexican-American, or other Hispanic-American, have earned a bachelors degree through an accredited program, and must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Recipient must be free to accept 12 weeks of summer employment and must accept research or teaching assistantship after first year.

Euna Rae Wilson Balch Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be a woman and a graduate of a public high school in Beckham County, Greer County, Harmon County, Jackson County, Kiowa County, Tillman County, or Washita County, Okla., who plans to enroll in the College of Arts and Sciences.

AvaCare Mdical Scholarship

Applicants must be at least 13 years of age, have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be a U.S. citizen. Students must be studying or planning on studying a medicine related field. Students must be at least a high school senior. AvaCare Medical offers an annual scholarship for an inspiring act of kindness. Selection is based on judge scores as well as public votes. Submission may be in the form of a blog post, an image or a short video clip. Finalists are selected based on content, creativity and quality of work.
